The “GenerAZIONE2026“ Project, part of the “Educazione Gen26” program of Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, ended with an extraordinary “International Three Day” which consolidated Olympism as an authentic lifestyle fo young people.
The initiative involved, free of charge, as many as 42,200 students from 38 primary and secondary schools in Veneto (Belluno, Treviso, Verona, Rovigo and Padova), with the aim of instilling the new generations the Olympic and Paralympic values. Excellent numbers confirming the strong impact that the initiative has had in promoting sports and social values in view of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Milan Cortina 2026 made by FICTS – Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs (Chaired by Prof. Franco Ascani).
The culmination of the project was the “Three Days International”, held in Treviso and Verona from 5 to 7 June, which hosted delegates from 130 countries affiliated to FICTS from as many nations from 5 continents. The event included an International Meeting on “Olympism and Business Development” opened with a video greeting from Mrs Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul IOC Member.
The Teatro Del Monaco of Treviso and the Auditorium of Verona hosted the Award Ceremonies for the children who attended – in the presence of 24 Olympic medals and their teachers – the delivery to the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 of the Torch of the Winter Olympic Games of PyeongChang 2018 by Prof. Rocky Kang-Ro Yoon (IOC Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission member).
The cities also hosted “en plein air” exhibitions with 325 photos and 36 hours of exclusive Olympic and Paralympic video images, and a selection of the best school papers. The project “GenerAZIONE2026” will also become a film that will be presented at the Venice Film Festival (26 August – 6 September) and SPORT MOVIES & TV (7-11 October)
