Following the dramatic events that have taken place along the Piave river in recent weeks, causing the tragic disappearance of citizens who, not respecting the current bathing ban, entered the waters of the river and lost their lives, in recent months a working table has been convened and formed by the Prefecture of Treviso, with the involvement of the Veneto Region, the District Basin Authority of the Eastern Alps, of the Province and coastal municipalities, to increase awareness-raising activities to be addressed to citizens on the risks of the river environment. Precisely with the aim of responding quickly to this emergency and thanks to what emerged from the discussion with all the bodies involved, the Province of Treviso immediately took action, with the desire to support the Municipalities in dissemination activities to citizens, creating a communication campaign in Italian and English (already broadcast online) on the bathing ban, on the reference standards and especially on the hydraulic dangers of the river which require that entry into the water be prohibited.
Participating in the conference were Stefano Marcon, president of the Province of Treviso, Alessandro Sallusto, deputy vice-prefect of Treviso, Tommaso Cappuccio of FIPSAS (Italian Federation of Sport Fishing and Underwater Activities), Carlo Torresan of FIDC (Italian Hunting Federation) and Paolo Maggion of the National Free Hunting Association.
