Venice, October 1, 2025 – Today, at Palazzo Balbi, the launch of “Colline ad Arte” (Hills of Art) was officially announced. This is the first edition of the Art Prize of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The initiative, promoted by the Association for the Heritage of the UNESCO Hills, is unique in its kind because it combines contemporary art, landscape, and sustainability. The Prize will be held for three consecutive editions, then renewed cyclically, with the aim of building a veritable open-air art collection over time: each year, ten artists will be invited to participate and a site-specific installation will be awarded to a different municipality within the UNESCO site.
For this inaugural edition, ten internationally renowned artists have been invited, whose works are featured in the collections of institutions such as Tate, Guggenheim, MoMA, Fondation Louis Vuitton, V&A, and Luma Foundation. These artists have exhibited in prestigious international contexts, from the Venice Biennale to those of Bukhara, Gwangju, and Sharjah, in some cases developing cross-disciplinary collaborations with scientists from NASA and ESA.
The following artists presented new works: Jakob Kudsk Steensen, Burcu Yağcıoğlu, Camilla Alberti, Gian Maria Tosatti, Himali Singh Soin, Lucía Pizzani, Nadia Kaabi-Linke, Osman Yousefzada, Shezad Dawood, and Sumayya Vally.
