A meeting dedicated to gender equality!
On September 25 and 26, 2025, the partners of the Interreg EQUALIT-A’ project met in the municipality of Irschen, in the Carinthia region of Austria, to update each other on the project activities carried out so far and to establish a strategy for the next steps.
All partners were present at the launch event: the six project partners GAL Prealpi e Dolomiti, Treviso-Belluno Chamber of Commerce, Municipality of Belluno, Municipality of Feltre, Gemeinde Irschen, LAG Großglockner/Mölltal-Oberdrautal, and the three associated partners EGTC “Euregio Senza Confini”, Veneto Region – Labor Directorate, and Wirtschaftskammer Kärnten.
The results of the interviews and analysis carried out by Lead Partner Gal Prealpi e Dolomiti and the Municipality of Irschen on the current state of gender equality in the Austrian province of Carinthia and the province of Belluno were discussed.
Based on these results, the partners reflected on a possible territorial governance strategy. Through close collaboration between the project partners, it will be possible to identify the correct areas of intervention in which to carry out significant actions for a paradigm shift in gender equality in the territorial contexts of the partners involved.
In addition to the project meeting, the partners from the Municipality of Irschen also organized a visit to the Irschen Herb Garden, run by a cooperative of 80 female farmers. In addition, a workshop was held on Lake Weissensee, where the partners participated in this networking event of the WoMentoring network, combining interactive activities with guided reflections on the theme of “Female Leadership in Carinthia and Belluno.”
Two days dedicated to gender equality and cross-border cooperation, a model to follow for the social and economic development of rural areas in Italy and Austria. This is the spirit of Interreg!
