Beausoleil-Monte Carlo, April 11, 2016. The Chamber of Commerce of Treviso-Belluno | Dolomiti expresses its great satisfaction with the prestigious new award received by Il Sesto Cerchio, the documentary film created within the GenerAZIONE2026 project, which is part of the national cultural and educational legacy program for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The award was presented during the Côte d’Azur Sport Film Festival in Beausoleil-Monte Carlo by the mayor of Beausoleil, Gérard Spinelli, the president of the Comité Départemental Olympique et Sportif des Alpes-Maritimes, Manuel Dureuil, and the festival’s president, Philippe Manassero, former administrator of the Comité National Olympique et Sportif français during the Paris 2024 Olympics, during the awards ceremony at the Centre Culturel Prince héritier Jacques II, where Nadia Zampol, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso-Belluno | Dolomiti, accepted the award and spoke on stage, representing the region and the institutions that made the project possible. President Mario Pozza, on an institutional mission in Panama, expressed his pride in this second international achievement. Prof. Franco Ascani, president of FICTS and member of the IOC Culture Commission, noted that the award was received on the very same day that Olympic and Paralympic athletes were received by the highest officials of the Italian State and the Vatican —a moment that underscored the universal value of sport as the foundation of civil societies.

Il Sesto Cerchio documents the journey of over 53,000 students from schools across the Veneto region who participated in multimedia lessons led by top-tier tutors, worked on projects supervised by their teachers, in competitive events in Milan, and in the grand ceremony at the Mario Del Monaco Theater, attended by Olympic and Paralympic champions, officials, the media, and the press, as well as the companies that supported the project by hosting the international delegations.

A project made possible by the collaboration between the Chamber of Commerce, the Veneto Region, the Veneto Regional School Office, and FICTS, the project’s creator.
Il Sesto Cerchio is an authentic legacy: through the present and future of its young protagonists, it bears witness to the significance of having been the host region of a globally successful event that is now part of history. A vision that already looks ahead to the 2028 Youth Olympic Games, to be held in Cortina d’Ampezzo, the queen of the Dolomites, now undergoing a profound transformation: world-class sports infrastructure, a new focus on tourism, and facilities destined to become a hub for the training of Italian and international teams.

The Chamber of Commerce of Treviso-Belluno | Dolomiti has believed in this project since its very first edition, investing in the five seasons of GenerAZIONE2026 with the strong belief that supporting young people, in collaboration with institutions, is the most forward-thinking way to invest in the future.

Jury’s Decision rationale

The documentary film Il Sesto Cerchio, which represents the GenerAZIONE2026 project, combines the introduction to sports and school education, engaging over 53,000 young students from the Veneto Region during the Milan-Cortina Olympic cycle.

This project is ideally linked to what inspired Baron Pierre de Coubertin to create the modern Olympics: the athletics competition held in March 1891 at the Lycée Alberto-le-Grand in the Paris region, an initiative of school superintendent Father Henri Didone, for which De Coubertin served as race director.

Press release: The documentary film Il Sesto Cerchio will be screened on June 4 at the Mario del Monaco Theater during the GenerAZIONE2026 awards ceremony.
