The forum dedicated to Southeast Asian markets is currently taking place in the stunning setting of Castelbrando, in Cison di Valmarino; a three-day event organized by the Treviso-Belluno|Dolomiti Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Venicepromex.

At the heart of the opening conference, presentations by institutional speakers and national and international representatives highlighted the opportunities that Southeast Asian markets offer to Veneto-based companies: a rapidly growing region that is increasingly strategic for those aiming to expand internationally.

During the event, participating companies will take part in B2B meetings with foreign delegations, who will visit the local areas and production facilities firsthand.

The three-day event, funded by the Treviso-Belluno-Dolomites Chamber of Commerce and included among the projects proposed for inclusion in the 2026 Program of Initiatives for Economic Promotion and Business Internationalization, is organized in partnership with the Veneto Region and Venicepromex Agency for Internationalization s.c.a.r.l.

Asia and the Australian continent – comments President Mario Pozzaare currently offering extraordinary market opportunities.

Two trade agreements open up concrete possibilities: the one between Australia and the European Union and the one between Italy and India. ‘Made in Italy’ is appreciated and recognized in this region, and we must make the most of it – Pozza emphasizes – because we have entrepreneurial excellence, quality products, and entrepreneurs who know how to do their jobs with excellence.

We have focused on these markets not as an alternative, but as an additional outlet following what we have already done with the forum of the Global South countries and the SME forum, because China and India alone have a combined population of three billion. Big numbers, big opportunities. These are also markets with a very young population and characterized by political stability.

Entrepreneurs can operate with confidence because they can rely on a solid network: the Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad and Venicepromex, our Veneto agency for internationalization, the Veneto Region, the embassies, and the consulates, SACE, SIMEST, ICE – ITA.

While dealing with these markets, this institutional network provides you with tangible support. My appeal to entrepreneurs – Pozza emphasizes- is simple: make better use of it. Chambers of Commerce abroad have firsthand experience doing business in those countries, with a direct presence on the ground: they support you not only when you enter the market, but also afterward.

On the product front, in addition to agri-food, which we take for granted, I’d like to highlight strong demand for furniture and design from India, China, and Japan. It’s a sector facing challenges, and this event in Castelbrando comes at just the right time: here we have Italy’s most important furniture district. And then there’s mechanical engineering: ours is high-quality machinery, in demand by Australia and the other countries present – the Philippines, Korea, Malaysia, and others.
