La Biennale di Venezia, chaired by Paolo Baratta, announces the 7th International Kids’ Carnival, titled Giro Giro
Tondo – Around the World,
to be held from Saturday January 30th till Sunday February 7th in Venice, at the Giardini’s Central Pavilion (every day from 10 am to 6
pm).

The Carnival will be animated by the participation of foreign Countries and Institutions, schools, and national and local cultural groups.

The 7th International Kids’ Carnival, whichwill take place with the specific commitment of the Music section of the Biennale, directed by Ivan
Fedele
, will feature a programme
including:

· Music Special: 6 short music arrangements created by young Composers fromthe Conservatory Santa Cecilia of Rome and played by young musicians from other Italian Music
Schools; workshops, sounds and songs by the Conservatory Benedetto Marcello of Venice and many other Italian Conservatories; folk dances, new nursery rhymes and lullabies by the
Orchestra Piccoli Pomeriggi Musicali of Milan

· School Mornings: workshops, sounds and songs

· The Magnificent: workshops, sounds and songs organized by selected Italian Schools

· The Countries: workshops, sounds and songs from Austria, Bolivia, Germany, Poland, Romania and United States.

· The Institutions: special readings of nursery rhymes and novels in order to stimulate the learning ability and the creativity of kids and children.

All activities are free of charge; some require reservations, others are open to anyone.

For all families, there will be a creative costume-making workshop to produce accessories using fabrics, paper and other simple or recycled materials.

As usual, the inauguration day (30 January) will also feature the awards ceremony of the Silver Lion for Creativity Competition for Italian Schools.

The International Kids’ Carnival is an important Educational Project of the Biennale now at its seventh edition, and addressed to youngsters, schools and
families
. Its purpose is to stimulate the creativity of young people in workshops, competitions, mask and costume-making, encouraging their personal
participation
and commitment.

There will be nurseries, discount rates for class participation, with free Biennale Carnival Buses and Vaporetti for the Schools (upon
reservation). For the public, there will be a Biennale Carnival Vaporetto.
