Belluno, 11 December 2023 – Minister Salvini’s words represent a real turning point. Now more than ever, we must speed up and make it felt that the territory believes in it to the full.
This is how Lorraine Berton, president of Confindustria Belluno Dolomites, comments on the statements made in Tessera (Venice) by Infrastructure Minister Matteo Salvini on the occasion of the start of work on the railway link to Marco Polo airport of Venice.
The Minister touched on the point by stating that the Veneto region cannot be ‘snatched’ of its Olympics and that the Olympic game concerns Milan and Cortina equally: these are the concepts that, as an Association, we relaunched during our General Assembly in the presence of President Luca Zaia.
At last we are on the right track: the national interest in the 2026 Olympics cannot disregard the respect of the individual territories that have contributed to the success of the candidature, – Berton says. As we have already said, we must now navigate in the same direction, government and local institutions, politics, economic categories and civil society.
Only with real Olympics can our highlands look to the future with confidence, new investments and serious planning, – continues the president of Confindustria Belluno Dolomites, who emphasises that the minister’s commitment comes on an important date: 11 December is in fact International Mountain Day.
