Catullo Company strongly supports the direct rail connection between Porta Nuova railway station, Verona Airport, and Lake Garda, and is actively involved in its development. The company participates in the dedicated working group for the new infrastructure, which is promoted by the Veneto Region and coordinated by RFI, the organization overseeing the project.
The air-rail intermodality is part of the development plans for the airport and all airports within the North-East Airport Hub managed by the SAVE Group. This approach aims to ensure smooth, uninterrupted transportation, benefiting both sectors and regional mobility.
Alessandra Bonetti, CEO of Catullo, stated: The synergy between air and rail transport is a primary objective in the development plans for our airport and the entire North-East airport system managed by the SAVE Group. Additionally, in terms of sales, the two transport segments could be integrated through commercial agreements involving airlines operating at Catullo. For instance, we envision unique travel packages that include the option to complete passenger and baggage check-in at the railway stations connected by the new line.
