Discover “GENERAZIONE 2026 – SPORT POWERED BY YOUTH AND EDUCATION” – 2° edition

The Project Generazione 2026 – Sport Powered by Youth and Education is realised by FICTS (Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs, the only Federation of the field recognised by the IOC)  with its 130 Member countries, for an initiative commissioned by the Treviso-Belluno Chamber of Commerce | Dolomites thanks to the sensitivity towards young people, the foresight and the support of the President Mr Mario Pozza, in collaboration with the Veneto Region (Councillor for Education Mrs. Elena Donazzan) which – with Lombardy – will host the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milan Cortina 2026 and with the Regional School Office for the Veneto, to guarantee new horizons to the world of the School through the values of sport.

The main objective of the Project for young people is to highlight the spirit of Olympism, according to the lines of the Commission for Culture and Olympic Heritage of the IOC (International Olympic Committee – which Prof. Franco Ascani, FICTS President, is a member of) through an educational action that allows to acquire active lifestyles in which sport is see not only as a vehicle for the promotion of psychophysical well-being, but also as a tool for social inclusion and integration, directly involving – with free registrations – young people of the “Generation2026 ” as protagonists also as “Games volunteers”.

The Project is placed with a view to the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The aims: positioning the territory at the center of a network of knowledge, educationg and collaborationg for the values of sport; educational action and sustainable enhancement of economic and environmental issues; social and environmental development of the territory through international activities.

The activities divided into three phases (which involved the students of the Primary, Secondary and High Schools of Treviso and Belluno) are:

• Educational Phase – from October to May 2023
• Sports Phase – Arena Brera in Milan (May, 12^th 2023) – a “twinning” between the regions of Veneto and Lombardy with the participation of the students of “GenerAZIONE2026” project in the “TROFEI DI MILANO”
• “Three Days” of Promotion and Attraction for Territories and Companies – Treviso and Cortina 8-9-10 June 2023
• Thursday June, 8th at 5.30 pm (Teatro Mario del Monaco di Treviso): Awarding Ceremony for Students, Schools and Teachers involved in the Project (the best 10.000 students involved from 32 Schools of Treviso and Belluno). Guests: Adriano Panatta (Tennis champion), Reinhold Messner (mountaineer and writer) and the Olympic champions: Maurilio de Zolt (cross country skiing), Christof Innerhofer (Skiing), Federico Pellegrino (cross country skiing)
• Friday June, 9th at 10.30 am (Museo delle Regole in Cortina d’Ampezzo): International Meeting “Milano Cortina 2026: the Image of the Olympic Games” with representatives of the institutional and business world, Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation, Journalists and the Delegates of the 130 countries affiliated to FICTS which celebrates its General Elective Assembly;
• Saturday June, 10th from 2.30 pm (Treviso and the surrounding area): A journey to discover the heritage of the area..

On the occasion of the “Three Days of Generation 2026” 3 Olympic-themed exhibitions will be set up in the Sala Borsa of the Treviso-Belluno|Dolomiti Chamber of Commerce: “Paralympic Emotions”, “Italian ice and snow champions”, “Fun facts and Curiosities” – a journey to discover the Olympic Games of all time). Opening Thursday June 8th  at 4.45 pm with free entry.
