Where to Ski in the Belluno Dolomites

The province of Belluno forms the heart of the UNESCO Dolomites and offers a ski network with over 360 km of slopes.

The Belluno area is home to the main ski areas within the Dolomiti Superski circuit, the largest ski network in Europe, accessible both with a single-valley ski pass and with the Dolomiti Superski all-inclusive pass.

The Cortina Ski Area is a premier destination for alpine skiing and snowboarding. It features 86 runs totaling 120 kilometers, spread across the Tofane, Faloria-Cristallo, and 5 Torri-Lagazuoi ski areas. The recent opening of the Cortina Skyline gondola provides a direct connection between the Socrepes area and the Falzarego Pass.

This is the highest-altitude ski area in the province and the technical heart of the Belluno region. The area is renowned for its challenging north-facing slopes in the Portavescovo area, which guarantee excellent snow conditions throughout the season. From Arabba, you have direct access to the Sellaronda, while the cable car to the Marmolada Glacier departs from Malga Ciapela; here you’ll find the Punta Rocca arrival station, where you can embark on the “La Bellunese” descent, which, at 12 km, is the longest in the Dolomites. The ski area is also a key access point for the Great War Ski Tour.

Marmolada Ski Area Info

This is the largest ski area located entirely within the province of Belluno, encompassing the valleys of Alleghe, Selva di Cadore, and Val di Zoldo (the towns of Pecol and Palafavera). It is one of the most well-rounded destinations in terms of the variety of slopes and the quality of its mountain huts, all situated against the backdrop of the Monte Civetta and Pelmo peaks. The ski area is particularly renowned for night skiing in Val di Zoldo.

Technical data: 72 km of slopes | 23 lifts | Altitude: 1,000 m – 2,100 m.

Notable runs: The “La Gran Zuita” run allows you to descend from the highest point (Col Fioret) down to Lake Alleghe, with a view of the northwest face of Monte Civetta.

Falcade serves as the Agordo gateway to a modern ski area distinguished by its wide slopes and excellent sun exposure. The technical heart of the area is Col Margherita (2,513 m), which serves as a scenic hub between the Belluno region and the Trentino side of the San Pellegrino Pass. The offerings cater to every type of skier: from gentle runs for beginners to slopes for professional athletes, such as the famous “La VolatA.”

Information on Falcade Slopes and Lifts

The Padola area is the Belluno section of the 3 Cime Dolomites ski region. It is a ski area “integrated” into the larger Superski system, yet characterized by a more authentic and “slow-paced” atmosphere. The slopes, which offer unique views of the Dolomites, wind through dense forests, providing a peaceful and less crowded skiing experience compared to the main ski resorts, while maintaining high technical standards.
