Time for the Quality of Life rankings in the Provinces: once again this year, the Province of Treviso is at the top of the ranking drawn up by Il Sole 24 Ore, taking 20th place overall in Italy (moving up one position compared to the last edition) and achieving 1st place at national level for ‘Life expectancy at birth’ and moving up a good 25 positions compared to last year for ‘Demography and Society’. The ‘Justice and Security’ indicator also did well (ranking 5th among the provinces with the lowest crime index and 1st in the ‘computer crimes’ indicator). Excellent results also in the area “Environment and Services”, which sees the Province of Treviso climbing 15 positions compared to 2022 and distinguishing itself in particular for the “urban ecosystem”.
A result in line with 2022 and, indeed, improving: this demonstrates the Province’s constant commitment to the wellbeing of the community and the territory, a territory that this year stands out above all in Italy by reaching the top of the ranking for life expectancy. I would like to emphasise, however, that of course this type of ranking must be analysed in depth, because the indicators are different and have different meanings from time to time – emphasises Stefano Marcon, President of the Province – The positions on Justice and Security are excellent, reconfirming the trend already highlighted by a previous Sole24Ore ranking published in October on this very topic, which saw us, as in this case, among the safest provinces in Italy, and precisely in 102nd place out of 107 provinces for crime index: an extraordinary result made possible by the great teamwork between the Prefecture, Police Forces, Institutions and a united and cohesive social fabric. Also satisfying are the results on ‘Environment and Services’: being in 4th place overall for urban ecosystem means having excellent levels in terms of air quality, waste management and land consumption: an achievement possible thanks to the commitment and attention of all citizens in separate waste collection and compliance with good environmental protection standards. But let me come to the record indicator on ‘Demography and Society’: being in first place for life expectancy means living in an area that offers its population an excellent life expectancy and also excellent medical support and care. Of course, there is a lot of work to be done to improve more and more, but overall, seeing how our Province manages to maintain, despite the current difficult socio-economic scenario, always constant top positions over the years is an indication, first and foremost, of a healthy, active and evolving territory. We, as the Provincial Authority, will continue to do our part to ensure that, today and tomorrow, the Marca Trevigiana offers citizens of all ages ever better prospects.
