Estate Incantata, the summer programme promoted by the Municipality of Treviso in collaboration with and with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno|Dolomites, is back.
More than 180 events will take place from 21 June to 21 September, involving 20 associations and realities of the territory among music, art, theatre, comedy and food and wine.
From the city centre to the neighbourhoods there will be festivals and events for everyone, to which some important novelties will be added.
Estate Incantata (‘Enchanted Summer’) started on Friday 21 June with the European Day of Music, promoted by the Ministry of Culture. Donna in Scena (‘Woman on stage’). Donna in scena. Boldini Selvatico Martini, directed by Fabrizio Malachin, will be extended until 15 September with a series of collateral events to explore themes related to the exhibition and enjoy the works in an alternative way. The exhibition emphasises the figure of women through celebrities such as Eleonora Duse, Wally Toscanini, Lyda Borelli and Toti Dal Monte, alongside elegant exponents of the bourgeoisie and nobility of Treviso, Veneto and Italy, immortalised by the colours of the most successful painters at the turn of the century, artists who often specialised in large female portraits, and for this reason were famous, admired, and fought over.
Music and folklore. From 28 August to 1 September, during the Treviso International Saxophone Festival, promoted by the Associazione Chiostro Armonico, there will be concerts and masterclasses dedicated to the world of the saxophone.
On 15 August, Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore will host the Gran Concerto dell’Assunta on the theme with Orchestra Filarmonia Veneta directed by Massimo Raccanelli and conducted by Elena Filini. Divine will be a tribute to the centenary of Giacomo Puccini‘s death and will highlight the creatures of La Bohème, Floria Tosca, Cio-Cio San, Suor Angelica, and Liù. They are, in fact, the women who defined Puccini’s universe. These roles were brought to success by the great singers of the early 20th century, prima donnas on stage and in life. Gran Concerto dell’Assunta is a tribute to Puccini’s female universe and is linked to the figures and stories brought to light by the exhibition Donna in scena at the Santa Caterina museum. There will also be the Rassegna Folcloristica Sile Folk organised by the Pastoria del Borgo Furo group with folkloristic dances and groups from Venezuela, Spain, Kenya and Portugal, both in the historic centre and in the neighbourhoods. The 35th International Folklore Festival will instead be held in Piazza dei Signori and under the Loggia dei Cavalieri with groups from Spain, Bulgaria and Slovakia.

Sardinia in music’) including dances, Sardinian songs of yesterday and today with dancers in traditional costumes and Enzo Mugoni singer and entertainer of the evening (free admission).
The Enchanted Summer is enriched every year with novelties and appointments, – are the words of the Mayor of Treviso Mario Conte. This testifies to the desire to create a shared and festive context, attractive and perfectly connected to our all-round cultural and artistic context, which once again proves to be particularly lively. I would like to thank the councillors for Culture and the Productive City, Maria Teresa De Gregorio and Rosanna Vettoretti, as well as the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno|Dolomites and the commercial partners such as CentroMarca Banca and Prosecco Doc, who are always close to us in the construction and programming of these events. Putting together 180 events is an important job, but thanks to the contribution of so many territorial realities, it has been possible to create a programme of quality events, to give the people of Treviso and visitors one more reason to enjoy summer afternoons and evenings with us’.
This varied proposal of events will offer the entire community a valuable opportunity to meet and share, fundamental elements for individual and collective wellbeing. Values that strengthen the bond with the territory and are therefore essential for a Cooperative Credit Bank such as CMB, – comments Tiziano Cenedese President of CentroMarca Banca, a historical partner of the Treviso summer event. We recognise the importance of culture and entertainment as instruments capable of creating social cohesion and essential moments of leisure. For this reason, we have chosen to renew our support for ‘Estate Incantata’, contributing to a rich calendar of events, including the six evenings of ‘CMB Comici in Loggia’, which will feature some of Italy’s best-loved cabaret artists as guests of excellence. A unique opportunity to enjoy evenings of fun and light-heartedness in what we hope will become a truly enchanting summer for everyone. – The CMB President concludes.
For Giancarlo Guidolin, President of the Consortium for the Protection of Prosecco DOC, Our commitment in the social sphere finds particular expression in supporting local projects that are born in favour of the community. We are therefore delighted to accompany the summer of Treviso as part of the broader collaboration with the city, particularly in this initiative that reveals a great cultural, artistic and entertainment breadth and is characterised by a wealth of diversified proposals capable of involving broad segments of the population.
