Eight new potential Agrichefs at the final exam that could further increase the number of farmer cooks in the province of Treviso. The qualifying course lasted 128 hours over a period of about three months in which the aspiring Farmer Chefs, all agro-tourism farmers of the Terranostra association, attended theoretical and practical lessons that explored the themes of hospitality and storytelling, as well as aspects related to the preparation of traditional dishes and knowledge of typical local products. Also collaborating in this course with Coldiretti Treviso were the hotelier institutes Maffioli of Castelfranco Veneto and Beltrame of Vittorio Veneto (province of Treviso).

The course financed by the European Social Fund, through the Veneto Region, called “I talenti del cuoco contadino a km zero” (“The  talents of the farmer cook at zero km”) will see the final exams on Thursday 6 June at 12 noon at the Castagnera farmhouse of the Dalle Crode family in Tarzo. There are now 23 farmer cooks or Agrichefs in the province of Treviso. The Marca was one of the first provinces in Italy to train this new figure capable of enhancing the agricultural activity expressed from field to table. ‘The growth of our great ambassadors of zero km productions continues, and with their talent and sensitivity they make us appreciate what our agriculture can express,’ explains Giorgio Polegato, President of Coldiretti Treviso. ‘I must emphasise the importance that the Cene Amiche (Friendly Dinners) review is taking on, which are offering increasingly eagerly awaited appointments.
The next Cena Amica will take place on 17 July at the Ca’ Fossà agriturismo in Borso del Grappa.
