With 6 provinces involved, the 108th edition of the Giro d’Italia will cross Veneto and the UNESCO World Heritage Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. The iconic Ca’ del Poggio Wall will be an unmissable feature.

Valdobbiadene, 13 January 2025 – The 108th edition of the Giro d’Italia was officially presented in Rome. The race will begin on 10 May in Albania and will see Veneto as a protagonist from 23 to 27 may 2025, with a special moment on 25 may, when the race will cross the municipalities of the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.

The passage of the Giro d’Italia through the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, a UNESCO World Heritage site, says Marina Montedoro, President of the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, has now become a tradition that we welcome with enthusiasm, but not without knowing that its inclusion is not taken for granted. That is why we thank the Veneto Region and President Luca Zaia for their efforts in this edition and for their constant commitment, which has the remarkable effect of promoting the territory. The excellent teamwork carried out by the Region with the RCS group allows Veneto to once again be the undisputed protagonist of an extraordinary sports and media event. The involvement of six Veneto cities and the passage through the provinces of Treviso, Rovigo, Vicenza, Padua, Venice, and Belluno testify to the deep bond between our Veneto and the most loved and followed international cycling event. We are particularly proud that the traditional passage through the Ca’ del Poggio Wall in San Pietro di Feletto, a symbol of challenge, effort, and beauty, will once again be part of the route, passing through our iconic places such as Vittorio Veneto, Refrontolo, Pieve di Soligo, Tarzo, Sernaglia della Battaglia, Moriago della Battaglia, and Vidor. The arrival of the Giro d’Italia Women in Valdobbiadene adds further prestige to the event, highlighting the importance of women’s sports. The Giro d’Italia represents a unique opportunity for territorial promotion and enhancement, and it is a fundamental driver to showcase to the world what Veneto has to offer, concludes the President.

The eagerly awaited sporting event will indeed touch the provinces of Treviso, Rovigo, Vicenza, Padua, Venice, and Belluno, further strengthening the bond between the Veneto region and this internationally significant event. On the 25 may stage, the route will cross the symbolic locations of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene: the picturesque Ca’ del Poggio Wall, famous for its exciting cycling challenges in San Pietro di Feletto, and the towns of Vittorio Veneto, Refrontolo, Pieve di Soligo, Tarzo, Sernaglia della Battaglia, Moriago della Battaglia, and Vidor. Valdobbiadene will also be the final destination for the Giro d’Italia Women, which will take place in July.

From 23 to 27 may 2025, Veneto will become the stage for cyclists and enthusiasts from around the world, consolidating its role as a protagonist in the international sports scene and offering a unique spectacle that celebrates the passion for sport and the beauty of the Italian territory.
