In a society with economic processes increasingly dominated by digital evolutions in every direction, and up to the themes in the limelight such as Artificial Intelligence and the Metaverse, transferring the necessary knowledge to small and medium-sized enterprises as well as to commercial and artisan structures represents not only a necessity but also a duty of the Chambers of Commerce – says Gian Michele Gambato President of t2i and Deputy Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Venice Rovigo – This is why the PIDLab project, developed by the Chamber subsidiary t2i, becomes decisive and the beating heart of the commitment that the Chambers of Commerce are putting into all processes and activities aimed at supporting and developing companies in the territories.
The center, created in collaboration with the Treviso – Belluno|Dolomiti and Venice Rovigo Chambers of Commerce, will support companies in making informed technological choices, allowing them to “touch with their own hands” the latest in digital transformation
Two first scheduled events, dedicated to Internet of Things (Nov. 14) and additive manufacturing (Nov. 30)
Treviso, Nov. 10, 2023 – In an ever-changing market, constant updating and knowledge of new technologies are now the core of business competitiveness. This is where t2i’s PIDLab comes from, a high-tech centre dedicated to digital innovation and experimentation, developed by t2i – Technology Transfer and Innovation in collaboration with the Treviso-Belluno |Dolomiti and Venice Rovigo Chambers of Commerce.
PIDLabs are an innovative service offered by the Punti Impresa Digitale of the Chambers of Commerce in collaboration with research organizations, technological poles and local universities: a space where businesses can have hands-on experiences with new technologies.
It is a project that aims to occupy a central role in the digital innovation landscape, providing businesses with a unique opportunity to directly experience and evaluate new emerging technologies at no cost. Located in the Treviso headquarters of t2i, in Piazza delle Istituzioni 34/A, 31100 the technology center is the result of an important synergy between the Punti Impresa Digitale of Treviso-Belluno, of Venice Rovigo and the t2i company with the primary objective of guiding businesses towards an informed and conscientious digital transformation, which is also already oriented towards sustainability issues.
Inside the PIDLab, companies will have the opportunity to test in preview and free of charge some innovative digital 4.0 solutions, including applications of artificial intelligence, virtual reality, IoT, with the aim of realizing “test before invest” experiences, i.e. experimentation to concretely orient themselves among technologies, at zero cost and quickly. The demos that will be proposed have been developed in close collaboration with important players in the technology sector and innovative startups in the area. The “test before invest” philosophy is derived from a mission clearly assigned by the European Union to its DIH- Digital Innovation Hubs, with the aim of enabling companies and entrepreneurs to make informed technology choices.
The t2i PIDLab, however, goes beyond mere technology: in addition to hands-on experience, companies will benefit from a wide range of services, including personalized consulting, assessments of their degree of digital maturity, and support in navigating funding and technology transfer pathways.
Two events will be hosted in November: on Tuesday, the 14th, Internet of Things will be discussed, a topic addressed through the story of STMicroelectronics, among the leading European companies in semiconductor manufacturing and design. (LINK)
On Thursday, 30, instead, the focus will be on innovations and applications in additive manufacturing: the key role of this sector will be highlighted and – through the experience of FabLab Treviso in 3D Printing and the story of the innovative method used by Desamanera for the construction of buildings on site – practical cases, impacts and potentialities will be discussed and demonstrated.
