Belluno, July 6, 2023 – Literature, Languages, Economics, Marketing, Management, Law, Medicine, Dentistry, Biotechnology, Motor Sciences, Computer Science, Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering: these are the classes that participants can access at the second edition of the Dolomiti Summer School, the great university orientation initiative that will be held in Belluno – in the prestigious venue of Palazzo Bembo – between August 28 and September 1. Enrolment will remain open for the entire month of July. It is time to make choices, and we are giving young people – from Belluno and elsewhere – the chance to choose their faculty directly in Belluno with a unique experience, says Lorraine Berton, president of Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti.
In months dominated by student protests over high rents and the general increase in prices, making the right decision about one’s future also means cutting costs for families. A wrong choice can jeopardise the economic balance of many family budgets already tested by inflation. The Dolomiti Summer School is an opportunity to shed light.

In addition to lectures on the various subjects, the initiative – which sees the University of Trento, the University of Verona and Luiss Guido Carli collaborating with Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti – also includes a series of customised interviews and information sessions. It is a great personalised orientation operation, where students will be helped to understand and make the most of their talents, Berton points out.

The University of Trento – comments Prof. Francesco Dal Corso, the University of Trento’s contact person for the initiative, together with Prof. Cinzia Menapaceis pleased to renew its participation in the second edition of the Dolomiti Summer School through the didactic offerings of the Industrial Engineering and Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering Departments, in the desire to confirm the high number of students from the Veneto region who choose our courses of study.

The University of Verona, which was already present last year with information technology and the courses in the medical and motor sciences area, says Prof. Massimiliano Badino, Rector’s Representative for Orientation, ‘confirms its commitment to the Belluno area by also participating in this edition with the humanities and economics area. One thing we have learnt from these months of PNRR is the need to work as a system, especially in orientation. We therefore welcome these initiatives that combine the efforts of several universities to offer students the best opportunities to choose.

We enthusiastically participate in the second edition of the Dolomiti Summer School, thanks also to a solid inter-university collaboration. Our Department of Law will organise in-depth studies on the jobs of tomorrow, to offer girls and boys in the area a unique opportunity to get their bearings. For over ten years, through our Summer Schools, we have been committed to guiding young participants in the discovery of their talents and passions, in order to make increasingly conscious choices for their future, said Luiss Director General Giovanni Lo Storto.

With the Dolomiti Summer School, we are projecting Belluno and Palazzo Bembo into the university and training dimension that is proper to them. The hub for the North-East of the Luiss Business School – which as industrialists we strongly supported – is a successful initiative, but it is not and will not be the only one. In fact, together with the University of Verona and local companies, work continues unabated to bring an IT degree course to Belluno. We want to give our young people and this territory the dignity they deserve, Berton concludes.
