The Piccola Orchestra Veneta and its Soloists, conducted by director Giancarlo Nadai, will be the protagonists of the concert scheduled for Sunday, 23 July in the church of San Martino in Fratta di Tarzo, at 5 p.m., the fourth event in the calendar of the series “Summer Music in Art and Beauty. Twelve concerts in the churches of the territory of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene UNESCO World Heritage Site”.
The cycle is promoted by the Beato Toniolo Diocesan Institute. Le vie dei Santi together with the Toti Dal Monte Music Association and the Piccola Orchestra Veneta, with the contribution of the Friends of Music Association of Valdobbiadene. The event is part of the proposals for the 2023 Veneto City of Culture “Music for the Landscape, Music in the Landscape”, with twelve concerts from 2 July to 17 September in as many of the most beautiful and evocative churches of the religious heritage of the dioceses of Vittorio Veneto and Padua.

The complex of the ancient church of San Martino a Fratta, in which the precious frescoes of the Saints, the exquisite altar frontal with its highly original inflorescences, recently restored, the only one of its kind in the diocese of Vittorio Veneto, and the wooden altar by the Cenedese Ghirlanduzzi carvers, are all worthy of mention. One of the short films in the video series “Places of the Sacred in UNESCO land” is dedicated to it. It was recently realised, with success and public appreciation, thanks to the commitment of the Beato Toniolo Institute, the Diocese of Vittorio Veneto and the journalist Qdpnews.it, now media partner of the exhibition, with the decisive support of Prealpi San Biagio Bank.

The event on 23 July enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Tarzo and is realised in collaboration with the Pro Loco di Tarzo and the Vite Illustri Pieve di Soligo – VIP network, in this 2023 commemoration of the 130th anniversary of the birth of the great opera singer Toti Dal Monte, who lived in the villa of Barbisano and is buried in the cemetery of the town of Pievigo.
The event is made possible thanks to the generous contribution of Banca Prealpi San Biagio, main sponsor, and the concrete support of Consorzio Tutela Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Latteria Soligo, Home Cucine and Sogno Veneto, to whom the promoters express their sincere gratitude for their sensitivity and spirit of cooperation in favour of the territory.

Admission to the concert in Fratta di Tarzo is free, with no booking required, and includes at the beginning a brief illustration of the important elements of the sacred building by one of the IBT art experts. On 23 July, music by Antonio Vivaldi will be performed, soloists Andrea Bet on violin, Lorenzo Stevanato on flute, soprano Loredana Zanchetta.
THE BISHOP CORRADO PIZZIOLO WILL ALSO BE PRESENT AT THE PIEVE DI SOLIGO CONCERT. On the afternoon of Sunday 16 July, in the complex of the Church of San Martino – Oratorio del Calvario in Pieve di Soligo, at the height of the ancient Cal Santa, the concert by the Soloists of the Piccola Orchestra Veneta, presented by director Giancarlo Nadai, was a great success. In particular, the violinist Lu Xian splendidly interpreted an allegro by Bach and Haydn; the flutist Lorenzo Stevanato enchanted the audience with a sonata by Antonio Vivaldi, accompanied on the harpsichord by Giacobbe Stevanato; and the soprano Loredana Zanchetta masterfully performed three ‘Ave Maria’ by Dalla Vecchia, Cherubini and Saint-Saens respectively, accompanied on the piano by Margherita Boatin. Warm applause came from the large audience that packed the sacred building, over a hundred people who greatly appreciated the choice of venue for the concert, for the first time ever dedicated to these kinds of events related to sacred music, and literally discovered by many on this specific occasion.

This was reiterated in her introduction by the art historian Cristina Chiesura, also curator of the video on the church, which is rich in history and memory, while Bishop Corrado Pizziolo, who received as a gift the beautiful publication “La Cal Santa e il suo Calvario”, edited by Raoul Bernardi, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the review proposed by the Beato Toniolo Institute in its enhancement of faith, art and music. The IBT president, Father Andrea Dal Cin, and archpriest Monsignor Giuseppe Nadal also participated. Finally, the IBT scientific director, Marco Zabotti, had words of special gratitude for all those who collaborate for the realisation of the cycle of events, especially the testimonials/sponsors, among whom were present Agostino Mirsayev and Raffaele Mazzucco, and the IBT communication referent for graphics and social, Gino Sutto.
