Treviso, 2 December 2023. Thanks to the contribution of some leading figures of the local, national and international scene, on 6 December from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm in Treviso at the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso-Belluno|Dolomiti, the interesting perspectives of Oleotourism have been discussed in the event Oleotourism: ingredients for the sustainable development of the territory and Unesco sites.

We like challenges, but above all we believe in the beauty of our territory and in the ability of our entrepreneurs who are increasingly oriented towards sustainability, of which oleotourism is an absolute expression – comments Mario Pozza President of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno|Dolomites – During the conference, on the occasion of Mirabilia day, we will understand how it is possible to promote tourism in the piedmont area through olive oil related activities and how oleotourism will be able to promote the sustainable development of the territory. We will also address the issue of health, and so the speakers will explain the benefits of olive oil as a key ingredient in the Mediterranean diet. However, it is necessary to plan strategies, to create a network in Italy with Mirabilia Network and with the Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad, and to identify new structured ways of hospitality, promotion in an absolutely sustainable style.

Spreading the culture of extra virgin olive oil among tourists and consumers and supporting the continuous growth of the oil supply chain is a unique opportunity for our territories, – comments Veneto’s Councillor for Tourism and Agriculture Federico Caner For years now, as a region, we have been aiming to support green&slow forms of tourism, with a special focus on sustainability, and further developing the offer of the oil world points precisely in this direction. Starting with a visit to an olive farm or oil mill, an exciting and original journey of discovery of the territory where an olive oil is born can unfold, gratifying consumers who are increasingly curious and thirsty for information and concrete experiences.

We are delighted to collaborate with the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso-Belluno|Dolomiti and Venicepromex for the ‘Oleoturismo’ event, an event that perfectly embodies our mission at Mirabilia Network – points out Mirabilia Network national coordinator Vito Signati This initiative not only enhances the cultural and natural wealth of our region, but also aligns with Mirabilia’s commitment to sustainable development. Through the exploration of olive oil traditions, we aim to promote responsible tourism that celebrates and preserves our UNESCO sites, while contributing to local economic development.

“Oleotourism: ingredients for the sustainable development of the territory and Unesco sites” is a free event, born from the collaboration with Mirabilia Network and Venicepromex, to learn about and deepen the opportunities offered by this new way of hospitality that combines tradition and landscape, taste and health, sensory experience and sustainable tourism. A different way to bring the consumer closer to the places of production, favouring micro-farms and territories outside the major tourist circuits.

Oleotourism is, of all food and wine experiences, the one with the greatest growth prospects, driven by the tourist’s desire to have a privileged relationship with the producer and to experience the territories visited more intensely.

As part of Mirabilia Day
