We are giving the utmost importance to young people, highlighting the absolute importance of making the right school choice, points out Mario Pozza, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso Belluno|Dolomites. “Ancient trades of the future“ is a school orientation event and the significant thing is that it will take place with the direct involvement of the children, but also of their parents, reaffirming the primary role of the family in the path of school orientation. Another important novelty is that the children will have the great opportunity to meet entrepreneurs from local companies and orientation experts.
The aim of the event is to convey to students and parents that jobs now considered “ancient‘”are instead experiencing a revolution in the light of scientific and technological progress, opening up multiple opportunities for interest and future employment.
HOW THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE
During the meetings, the young people will attend an Edutainment (Education and Entertainment) show, during which guidance and work psychologists and professional actors will take the young people on an educational and entertaining journey through sketches and moments of debate.
Psychologist Angelo Boccato will address the theme “Curiosity as an antidote to the fear of making mistakes“.
The event, Boccato explains, is designed for parents and students who will meet entrepreneurs from different sectors who will talk about traditional professions and their evolution, in a game between past and future. The aim is to make young people curious, to invite them to learn about those professions by focusing on the skills and abilities required today in a world of work that is constantly changing. This continuous reshaping of certain jobs, which are increasingly articulated or, to use a technical term, ‘hybrids’, require very heterogeneous skills and experience that must also be assessed in the light of young people’s personal interests.
In the orientation process, Boccato continues, the school and in particular the teacher plays a fundamental role, as does that of the parents, who have the task of accompanying the boys and girls. Hence the presence of parents at ‘”Ancient professions of the future'”who will be able to take part in the dialogue with companies together with their children.
It is essential to communicate innovation to the younger generations. If it may seem like nonsense, however, this is what we must do so that young people can choose with absolute serenity all the possibilities that our training and business system offers – comments Mario Pozza, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso-Belluno|Dolomites – We are convinced that dialogue and direct knowledge are the best way to tell those professions perceived as only traditional and already seen, but which today are instead innovative, creative, and of international value for their uniqueness and representation of Made in Italy.
We want to recount professions in which, thanks to technology and evolved business contexts, the boundaries between intellectual and operational work are blurred, – emphasises Federico Callegari, head of the Chamber’s Studies and Work Orientation sector. Students and parents will thus be able to learn about the fascination of the beautiful and well-made, reinterpreted by digital technologies and increasingly demanding markets. They will do so by interacting with people, entrepreneurs and technicians, who every day, from mechanics to furniture and fashion, affirm the excellence of our production in the world.
