Signed today at Sant’Artemio the Agreement for the Promotion of a Unitary Policy on Housing in the Province of Treviso, promoted by the Association of Municipalities of Marca Trevigiana and by the Administrative Studies Centre of Marca Trevigiana and signed by Province of Treviso, ATER of Treviso, Sinistra Piave Community Foundation, Cgil Treviso, Cisl Treviso Belluno, Uil Veneto Treviso, Chamber of Commerce of Treviso Belluno/Dolomiti, Confcommercio Unione Provinciale di Treviso, Confartigianato Imprese Treviso, CNA Treviso, Casartigiani Treviso, Legacoop Veneto Treviso Belluno, Confcooperative Unione Interprovinciale Treviso e Belluno, Caritas Foundation of Vittorio Veneto, Volontarinsieme Treviso.
The objective of the protocol is to promote cooperation between all the signatory bodies, the Prefecture of Treviso, Institutions, Associations, Trade Unions, Trade Associations and the Third Sector to solve the problem of the housing emergency in the Treviso area. (Protocol attached)
Among the modes of collaboration included in the document, two are certainly the most prominent:
“Today we are signing an Agreement that is the result of a great deal of work carried out over the past few months by the Association of Municipalities of the Marca Trevigiana with the working group of the Centre for Administrative Studies, which, at the suggestion of the Municipality of Treviso, has drawn up a series of studies and strategies to solve the problem of the housing emergency. For this reason, I would like to thank all the bodies that have signed, or will sign, the Agreement and especially those who have worked hard on it, producing a series of initiatives that are probably unique at the national level – said Paola Roma, president of the Ass. Comuni della Marca Trevigiana – First of all, a first fruit of the work is that of having obtained the change of an article of the Regional Law that now allows all the municipalities, even the smallest ones, to have 2 dwellings that can be rehoused for the needs of social cases known to them that do not necessarily fall within the parameters of the ERP emergency. On the other hand, the Housing Support Fund sees both economic aid to support expenses, but also housing education activities that will allow the municipalities to educate the families that will be placed in the housing. This is an agreement at provincial level that has brought together a number of actors, working with the region and the ministry to provide timely and precise answers. If we want to try to reopen private rental opportunities, we must give guarantees that are fulfilled in this fund”.
“I would like to thank the great work of our offices,” commented Marco Della Pietra, president of the Centre for Administrative Studies of the Marca Trevigiana, “and all the entities involved for the synergy they have put in place.
“I thank the Association of Municipalities and the Study Centre for the great work and all the authorities involved,” said Stefano Marcon, president of the Province of Treviso, “all in favour of the mayors who, as we know, are on the front line every day to deal with the housing problem.
“The housing emergency is a delicate issue for which a lot of attention is needed and it must be tackled in synergy with all the authorities involved, as the agreement proposes,” said the Prefect of Treviso, Angelo Sidoti. “This network is the first starting point to monitor the availability of housing and the needs of citizens.
“This protocol is an important signal to the territory because it sees the synergy of many entities and also involves private parties,’ Mauro Dal Zilio, president of ATER Treviso, commented. ‘We couldn’t help but be part of the game because as the territorial Agency for Public Residential Housing we face every day, together with the municipalities, the problem of the housing emergency, which in this historical period is increasingly pressing. If this protocol will therefore help to solve part of the problem, we can only applaud it.
