Prosecco Cycling, 5 April registration opens for the Gravel Contest
Source: press office Prosecco Cycling Gravel Contest
It made its successful debut in 2022. Now it is ready to return and offer new emotions in the heart of the Prosecco World Heritage hills.
On Wednesday 5 April registrations open for the Prosecco Cycling Gravel Contest, an event that on 1 October next will enrich the programme of the traditional road event that this year celebrates its twentieth anniversary.
The Prosecco Cycling Gravel Contest will cover about 70 km of white roads and rapid ups and downs among the vineyards. The route will be defined by the experience of AMG Alta Marca Gravel ASD and, as the team of route setters likes to emphasise, will be in perfect #amgstyle.
Guaranteed to be an attractive route from the point of view of landscape, to be tackled in total freedom and without any competitive objective: the Prosecco Cycling Gravel Contest does not in fact provide for timing or mechanical assistance.
“This is the only gravel event in the context of a road event,” emphasises Massimo Stefani, executive manager of Prosecco Cycling. “We have chosen a route that is as parallel as possible to the traditional route in order to guarantee above all the medical assistance that we believe is indispensable and necessary, even though it is a non-competitive event. We want to bring all the emotions of Prosecco Cycling to those who will choose the off-road experience as well. Starting with the gourmet stops, which are common for both routes‘.
The registration fee for the Prosecco Cycling Gravel Contest is €25 and does not include the free packet – which can be purchased at the time of registration – nor the voucher for the Grand Tour Gourmet. It will, however, be possible to take advantage of the stops, real gourmet refreshment points located along the route and at the finish line, with strictly Italian and local products from sustainable agriculture at km 0, and, once in Valdobbiadene, to taste Tiramisù, the world’s most famous spoon dessert in the splendid setting of Villa dei Cedri. For teams and/or groups with a minimum of 10 participants, the registration fee is reduced to 20 euro.
With the registration for the Prosecco Cycling Gravel Contest, but only until July, it will be possible to purchase the 20th anniversary jersey, blue in colour, produced by Giessegi exclusively for Gravel.
The Prosecco Cycling Gravel Contest marks the start of the most eagerly awaited time of year for enthusiasts of this increasingly popular bicycle. It will be a unique and inimitable moment, just like Prosecco Cycling in its 20th anniversary year.
