Treviso, 18 May 2022 – Out of 128 relay teams taking part in the Final of the “Trofei di Milano” representing 42 secondary schools from Milan, Treviso and Sondrio, the relay team made up of
Rossella Dotto (3A) and Cecilia Porcellato (2A) from the IC of Silea and Riccardo Varacalli (3E) and Francesco Ramon (3B) from the IC S. Biagio di
Callalta Institute, came first among the relay teams of third classes with a time of 1.00.92.
The President of the Treviso-Belluno | Dolomites Chamber of Commerce and Unioncamere Veneto Mario Pozza, together with Prof. Franco Ascani, Member of the IOC Culture
and Olympic Heritage Commission, welcomed the students, teachers and managers of the IC S. BIAGIO DI CALLALTA and IC DI SILEA to the Chamber of Commerce headquarters to reward the
great Milanese competitive result.
The young Trevigiani shared their emotions experienced at the Milan Arena, got to know the Chamber of Commerce through the words of President Pozza, and looked towards future projects in a
direct, serene and informal dialogue.
Generation 2026 puts the first medals to a project that looks ahead to the Milan – Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games by working on the values of sport and Olympic values
so that the event that will take place in Cortina will be a guiding project for the generations of the future – comments President Mario Pozza. In concert with the network of
regional and interregional provincial institutions, we are investing in culture to create new visions oriented by firm and strong principles.
The times we are living in require even more commitment to cultural change in order to face innovation, endogenous and exogenous critical events with ease, to direct minds to trust in a
society that believes in young people and in great projects – Pozza emphasises. We breathe enthusiasm, team spirit, belonging. The School and the institutions give a significant
example of a great shared role among the Italian regions in the 2026 Olympic Games. This inter-regional embrace is then made by the students, their professors and the participating
sports.
The historic Trophies of Milan were pleased to see the participation of young people from Treviso. Thus began a Generation 2026 path with the involvement of the regions of Lombardy and
Veneto. Olympic values find in the School a significant moment of projection – Prof. Franco Ascani says.
The meeting was shared with the coordinator of Treviso Prof. Chiariotti, Prof. Meneghel Mascia and Headmistress Maria Pia Davanzo of the IC DI SILEA, Headmistress
Elisabetta Costa-Righini, Vice-Principal Parisi Annamaria and Prof. Balzano Vincenzo of the IC S. BIAGIO DI CALLALTA, who expressed the importance of participating in
the Generation 2026 project, especially after the distance learning caused by the two-year pandemic.
The delegation reached the venue with the Cycling in the Venice Garden minivan driven by Marca Treviso director Alessandro Martini.
“Lo sport a scuola c’è” at the Arena in Milan was three days of sport in which 7,000 students from Lombardy and the Treviso delegation took to the track. This year the ‘Trophies’
expanded geographically to the ‘Olympic Areas’ and involved – as part of the ‘GENERATION2026‘ project – schools in the Veneto region (Treviso and Belluno).
