Sernaglia della Battaglia (TV), 20 July 2023 – On Saturday 29 July at 06.00 a.m., in Musil (via Busche), part of the city Sernaglia della Battaglia, the sun will rise over the Prosecco Hills World Heritage Site, accompanied by the music of the Italian Rhythmic Symphony Orchestra and the voices of the Art Voice Academy pop chorus conducted by Maestro Diego Basso. This is the first time that the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene have hosted a “Dawn Concert” dedicated to them. The event is free of charge and is part of the busy calendar of events on the occasion of the “Veneto City of Culture 2023 – Music in the landscape, music for the landscape” and will pay “Homage to Ennio Morricone“, one of the most famous composer, conductor and arranger in the history of Italian and world cinematography.

We are very proud to host in the Hills the symphony orchestra conducted by Maestro Diego Basso, who has always been a performer of sublime musical performances in the Veneto’s World Heritage territories. – commented Giuliano Vantaggi, site manager of the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. – It is always a magic experience when we combine the power of music with the spectacularity of a landscape such as the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene because it allows us to multiply and spread beauty.

In the open air and against a natural backdrop of the splendid Prosecco Hills, Maestro Basso will give a unique concert.
Performing Ennio Morricone‘s music for the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, a World Heritage Site, fills us with pride. The ‘Homage to Ennio Morricone’, for which I am conducting and transcriptions, is in fact a musical project to which I am particularly attached. I can therefore only be very happy that this concert has been included in the programme of events designed for the Veneto City of Culture – 2023. The idea of “Music in the Landscape” and ‘”Music for the Landscape” fits perfectly with the philosophy that has always accompanied us: music performed with the symphony orchestra in places of great cultural and scenic importance. Over the years, we have succeeded in taking the orchestra and choir to particularly evocative locations throughout Italy, from the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento to the Veneto Dolomites. – recalled Maestro Diego Basso, who will conduct the Italian Rhythmic Symphony Orchestra. – The embrace of this land, the more than fifty orchestra members with their instruments, the choristers, the evocative and refined soundtracks, the conducting experience, I hope will make the dawn of this new day, a special day.

The concert is organised by the municipality of Sernaglia della Battaglia with the support of the IPA Terre Alte della Marca Trevigiana, in collaboration with the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, and with the contribution of Banca della Marca and the Veneto Region through the funds of the 2023 Veneto City of Culture Award. At the end of the event, those present will also be able to taste typical local products thanks to the catering service organised by the Treviso Food District.
