On Tuesday 17 May 2022 at the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso-Belluno in Piazza Borsa, 3b, 31100 Treviso(TV) the meeting was held in the presence of the FICTS President, the
only Italian IOC member Prof. Franco Ascani, the President of the Chamber of Commerce Mario Pozza and the delegation of Generation 2026 composed of students who participated in
the event “Sport at school there is” at the Arena of Milan on 27 – 28 – 29 April 2022.
Three days (with a record 6,960 students in the field) aimed at spreading the culture of sport and Olympic values among young people, including fast running (m. 60 and m. 80 disputed on two
straights at the same time) and the mixed relay.
The meeting opened with congratulations from Prof. Franco Ascani to the students from Treviso for reaching the podium thanks also to the preparation of their professors.
Olympism is a way of life, so a way of life that grows among you, your professors, teachers, and the entire school world. You will have seen that in Milan there were not only the ‘champions’
running, everyone was running. – Prof. Franco Ascani commented.
You distinguished yourselves through your tenacity by standing on the podium, – the President continued.
During the meeting, moreover, Chamber of Commerce President Mario Pozza presented the students with an award in honour of their efforts: This is a small recognition that we decided to
give to you, it is a cup made by people less fortunate than you who have disabilities.
The Headmistress of the Treviso High School also intervened, congratulating the students and teachers: It is admirable and a satisfaction for us to see such motivated students, especially since
they have come from a period of pandemic that has led them to no longer experience these moments.
Closing the meeting was the projection of the work ‘On the Wings of the Chamber: where talent is at home‘, an innovative video to communicate in Italy and abroad the entrepreneurial
excellence of the Sportsystem and eyewear industry in the beauty of the territories that will host the Milan – Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
There was no shortage of applause to reinforce the importance of such a special moment that gives hope once again for the future Generation 2026!
