The Olympic Torch welcome in Treviso at the Chamber of Commerce

STATEMENT BY PRESIDENT MARIO POZZA
The passage of the Olympic torch is not only an institutional celebration, but also a moment of great symbolic value that evokes themes of transition, continuity, and responsibility towards the future. For this reason, the Treviso-Belluno|Dolomites Chamber of Commerce has chosen to play an active role in this process, recognizing the Olympic torch as a concrete symbol of the values that guide and inspire the business world.
The Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics represent a historic opportunity for the country and, in particular, for mountain areas. In this context, the Treviso-Belluno|Dolomites Chamber of Commerce represents an economic system that unites Treviso, Belluno, and Cortina as a natural reference point and identity for the Olympics and Paralympics, in a unique entity represented by the Chamber of Commerce, which connects businesses, territories, and communities from the plains to the mountains.
The event marking the passing of the Olympic torch at the Chamber of Commerce is the result of five years of intense work on the GenerAZIONE2026 project. We have invested significant resources and constant commitment in the future of businesses: young people, involving 42,200 students in particular. We have invested in promoting the territories with hospitality and guided tours for international delegations. For five years, we have visited businesses in Treviso and Belluno with international delegates, which the delegations have talked about around the world. Being part of the Olympic and Paralympic torch relay today means crowning this intense and great work with FICTS and its president, member of the IOC culture commission, Prof. Ascani, with the Veneto Region and the Verona Chamber of Commerce.
We are confident that investing in such a significant moment will generate a tangible return for businesses: visibility, attractiveness, new opportunities for relationships, and a positioning of the territory consistent with the values of quality, sustainability, and innovation required by global markets.
The passing of the torch is also a powerful metaphor for generational change. The future of businesses lies with young people, who are taking up the baton of skills, knowledge, and responsibility. The Chamber of Commerce is committed to supporting this future through initiatives dedicated to training, guidance, and youth entrepreneurship, so that young people can build their professional and entrepreneurial careers while remaining connected to the local area.
Being present today means investing in tomorrow: a tomorrow in which businesses, young people, and communities can grow together, in the spirit of Olympic values and sustainable, lasting, and international development.

Piazza Borsa was set up to welcome the Olympic torch with a GenerAZIONE2026 backdrop for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The girls and boys wore caps and waved flags with the chamber logo and ‘welcome’!
The President and the Board of the Chamber of Commerce were keen to make a strong contribution to this important Olympic event.
The ceremony was preceded by a meeting dedicated to the schools involved in the project, which began five years ago, GenerAZIONE2026 – Sport Powered by Youth and Education, and took place in the morning at the Conference Hall of the Chamber of Commerce with the screening of the documentary film “Il Sesto Cerchio” (The Sixth Circle), the presentation press release for which is attached.
WHY THE DOCUMENTARY FILM IL SESTO CERCHIO?
“GenerAZIONE2026” is an opportunity to tell the public about a project that not only educates and trains, but also creates lasting and meaningful connections between all the protagonists of our territory. It is a film that speaks of universal values: collaboration, passion, resilience, and hope for the future. It is a positive message that looks directly towards the Olympics and invites every viewer to become part of a movement that knows no boundaries.
In response to the baby gang emergency, the project, launched five years ago, was forward-thinking in focusing on the future of a region and its enterprises: young people. With this documentary film, the Chamber of Commerce intends to further promote how young people can look to their future, built on the values of the Olympic and Paralympic spirit.
