The Awards Ceremony of the 7th Ideas Competition for Schools ‘B2Youth: Attention to Others’ and the awarding of the 4th ‘Social Innovation and Sustainable Development Award’ took place at the Chamber of Commerce. The event was opened by the video greeting of President Mario Pozza on a mission to New York, who greeted the young people with these words: Dear boys and girls, welcome to the Chamber of Commerce, the home of enterprises. Today the focus is on you and we are very proud to award your projects. Our territory, our Italy needs this energy, we are at your side. Continue to work with commitment and dedication so that this country continues to be admired and desired.
Two of the activities consolidated over time are the ‘Social Innovation and Sustainable Development Award’ and the ‘Competition of Ideas for Schools’, now in their 4th and 7th edition respectively, which award a cash prize for the implementation of ‘socially responsible’ projects.
The Chamber of Commerce has decided to award prizes to the winning projects, implemented by companies and schools, within the framework of these two specific calls for entries, at this joint event, which aims to represent a further moment of ‘transgenerational exchange and sharing of ideas’, in support of a more sustainable economy and world, where sustainability can only be that which embraces all three ‘pillars’: economic – environmental – social.
A “winning” entrepreneur, – points out the Deputy Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce Francesco Rossato , – is not only the one who has an idea and knows how to realise it, but is the one who is attentive to the needs of others: of their employees, their local area, and their stakeholders in general. The values of each entrepreneur characterise each company and values grow with us from our school years.
This is also why the Chamber of Commerce believes in the importance of initiating and maintaining a dialogue with the entrepreneurs of today and the ‘entrepreneurs of tomorrow’ and why it continues to organise initiatives such as these.
