Recognised as a Top User of Minecraft Education Edition

Launched in 2009, Minecraft is a widely popular game that has often been described as virtual Legos. Since children are having such fun with Minecraft, it is inevitable that innovative teachers would take this into the classroom. In fact, tens of thousands of teachers around the world have! Amidst all these schools and classrooms, Bangkok Patana School was recognised by Microsoft as one of the top users of Minecraft Education Edition (EE).
“We chose Minecraft because of its popularity and depth of opportunities for cross-curricular learning. Our students are already motivated and able to play in all kinds of Minecraft worlds. We use this enthusiasm to help them explore new concepts,” explained Max Hopwood, Primary Leader of Learning for ICT. Primary students are learning literacy, maths and sciences through Minecraft, and teachers have found that it enables students to grasp and understand concepts that are normally beyond the Primary age curriculum.
“Minecraft Education Edition allows us to capture the experimental aspects of learning in [an] environment where mistakes are celebrated and innovation is easy. Also, while playing collaboratively, students hone their cooperation, teamwork, communication, and negotiation skills, which are highly desirable skills in a connected world,” Hopwood elaborated.

BRIGHTON COLLEGE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL BANGKOK

Brighton College Bangkok host the largest Model United Nations Conference in the region

The Brighton College Bangkok MUN conference was the biggest of its kind in this part of the world, showcasing the school’s commitment to providing opportunities for students to engage in meaningful and impactful experiences. The event was organized with meticulous attention to detail, and the quality of debate was exceptional.

One of the key benefits of MUN conferences is that they provide a platform for young people to grapple with complex issues and engage in meaningful dialogue with their peers. This helps to foster a greater understanding and appreciation of different cultures, beliefs, and perspectives. Students are exposed to different ways of thinking, and they learn to approach problems from a variety of angles.
