The route of the floats will be identical to last year’s: the parade will start at 2 pm from Piazza Duomo, the 1.5 km long parade will then descend into Via Canova, pass through Borgo Cavour and run alongside the city walls until it reaches the large Piazzale Burchiellati, where the jury will also be located. Presiding over the jury will be master craftsman Marco Varisco, who will bring to the stage the trophies he has designed to reward the best float and the best choreography. The jury will also include two Benetton Rugby players: Tiziano Pasquali and Argentine Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro. The parade of allegorical floats will be broadcast live on Antenna Tre.
The last day of Carnival will feature two events: 21 allegorical floats and masked groups on the catwalk in the capital, and 18 in the city of Cima.
Treviso and Conegliano: the magic of Carnival will reach one of its most eagerly awaited moments on Shrove Tuesday. The parade of papier-mâché giants will stop this afternoon in Treviso and Conegliano for two classic events of the craziest celebration of the year.
TREVISO – In the capital, on Shrove Tuesday afternoon, thanks to the forecast of good weather, crowds are expected to turn out for this special occasion. The parade, starting at 2 p.m. from the Duomo and narrated by Nicolò Dalla Gasperina, will include 21 allegorical floats and masked groups. The Majorettes Blu Bell will precede the parade. Then, as usual, the Treviso Folklore Group will take the stage with the traditional King Carnival. This will be followed by the Energia in movimento dance school from Nervesa della Battaglia (“Disney World”), the Pro Loco of Sant’Angelo di Treviso (“Scrooge McDuck and the treasure that doesn’t shine”), the Simpatia group from Musestre (“Fasten your seatbelts… . Fun fact: the Dominican ambassador to Italy, Rafael Lantigua Ciriaco, and the Dominican consul in Milan, Miguel Ángel Vásquez Peña, will also be marching in the parade with the cultural association “Yo Soy Dominicano Aquí y Allá.”
CONEGLIANO – The Conegliano Carnival celebrates its 33rd anniversary with the traditional parade of allegorical floats, which will take place tomorrow, Today, February 17, starting at 2:30 p.m. and accompanied by the voices of Roberto Biz and Federico Campodall’Orto, winding through the streets and squares of the city center. Eighteen allegorical floats and masked groups will take part in the parade. The parade will be opened by the Majorettes Onda Azzurra from Jesolo and the Ginnastica Artistica Conegliano (“The Five Olympic Rings”).
