Located in Mogliano Veneto in the Province of Treviso, the Toni Benetton Museum collects the works and masterpieces of Toni
Benetton
, the renowned 20th century sculptor.
Since 2000 Villa Marignana Benetton has been the seat of the museum dedicated to the artist. Located on the rotatory of Via Roma is the sculpted sphere called the Big Sphere
constructed from steel, the artist’s preferred means of expression.
Toni Benetton attended courses at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice under the guidance of Arturo Martini, during the ’60s he established close relationships with Carlo Scarpa,
Andrea Zanotto and the artist Giovanni Commisso whith whom he realized the Solomon Garden in Solighetto and establishing one of Italy’s first outdoor sculpture parks.
Culinary tips: If you ever travel to Treviso make sure you try the IGP product Radicchio Rosso di Treviso and the Zero Branco pepper, singular type of pepper that is fleshy, characterized
by a bright yellow colour and its sweet flavor.
