Yesterday morning, Tuesday July 1st, the Municipal Administration of Auronzo went to the parking lot of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, to see what was already witnessed by the data collected in the first weeks of activation of the reservation system of the relevant parking areas. “The satisfaction is great! To think of the chaos that there was between Misurina and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo last year, and see how the situation has changed, is priceless! the road to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo arequietly and neatly traveled by cars, motorcycles, buses and with regular parking in the center and at altitude, without tensions and even able to appreciate the peace of the mountain. Many were sceptical, telling us that we would not make it, but we have shown with the facts that with the right people and the right ideas, results are achieved,” said Nicola Bombassei, Project Advisor
“It is the result of a lot of work by all the administration and our offices” continued the Counsellor – “A job born from the will to do the good of the country, followed by a great and constant commitment, night after night, day after day. We had a problem and turned it into an opportunity, citing the title of an article published in the newspapers in the last period, which said: “Overtourism has served”, we can say instead, with pride: Overtourism is managed! But it is not only the management of parking at the Tre Cime di Lavaredo the strong point of this operation, was by connecting the system of mandatory booking to the tourist site that we allowed those who already chose the Three Peaks of Lavaredo and our Dolomites, to discover the proposals at 360 degrees of Auronzo, not only in summer, but all year round, in every single season, the opportunity. Today the site auronzo.info has more than 420,000 hits, 35,000 visits to the page dedicated to accommodation! Not only: 5,400 people have subscribed to the Newsletter (half in the month of June alone) to receive periodic information on the tourist proposals of Auronzo, a number that will grow. You can imagine our satisfaction today and the drive to continue on this path. We still have many other ideas under construction and we hope soon to be able to share them and concretize”.
Present on the spot the company Cortina IN, DMC and Tour Operator that offers services for tourism, which has structured the new site auronzo.info, and the company Abaco, which manages the Mobility and Stopover project and is the provider of the reservation system of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo Parking area, both key partners in the realisation of this ambitious project. Luca Gatto, from Abaco Spa, said: “The number of users who have registered on the booking portal is around 61,500. It is a user-friendly portal that is collecting many requests. In the month of June we have stabilized the processes of communication with the user for the reservation, to offer a more efficient service. In the parking lot, more than 90% of 12-hour tickets are sold on daily availability, leaving more free evening hours, all as per script, also respecting the interests of the Agency. The parking comes to saturation late in the morning and then leave room for the normal rotation of vehicles booked in the afternoon. The average length of stay is constantly increasing. For now there are no queues or disservices and also the flows of transit and stop in Misurina are stable with great benefit to all, operators, tourists and citizens, and the wonderful nature that surrounds us”.
