‘It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that we present to the public today Intesa Sanpaolo’s membership as a Major Supporter of the Association,‘ comments Marina Montedoro, President of the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. We are honoured that the most important banking group in Italy has seen in the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene an opportunity for development. Being able to count on Intesa Sanpaolo as the first ‘Great Supporter’ of our UNESCO site is also a great opportunity for us. It is the first time that a World Heritage site has seen a banking group take a concrete and direct interest with the common goal of developing projects that bring value to the entire area. An association like ours,’ he continues, ‘can carry out actions of extraordinary impact for the area, but in order to be able to plan activities, a multi-year time span is necessary.
What has motivated us even more is the relevance of the membership, as evidenced by the fact that it is a support that looks to the future. Today we look at Intesa Sanpaolo’s interest as a success and a great challenge to do even better and to carry out activities to protect and develop our Hills. We trust,’ he concludes, ‘that the courage shown by Intesa Sanpaolo and the trust it has placed in the Association can also be a stimulus and a paradigm for others. Enhancing the value of our country, our region, and its beauty can and must be done together by opening the doors to those who with foresight share our values and our same mission. I conclude with a heartfelt thank you to the Veneto Region and the Intesa Sanpaolo team that together with the Association have worked over the past few months to achieve this partnership‘.
The projects that will be developed to enhance the territory of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene – from 2019 a World Heritage Site – will focus on social and environmental sustainability, and will be declined in green mobility initiatives, slow tourism and socio-cultural events.
“For Intesa Sanpaolo it is an honour to become a Major Supporter of the Associazione Colline del Prosecco di Conegliano e Valdobbiadene, with which we share a concern for the territory, respect for traditions and a belief in sustainable progress for the environment and the community. For our Group, the commitment to the protection and enhancement of territories and their excellence is a form of social responsibility. – comments Jacques Moscianese, Executive Director Institutional Affairs Intesa Sanpaolo – This path is taken both through participation in realities that are important for the territory and through the bank’s various activities, including our centre dedicated to agribusiness, one of the objectives of which is to accompany companies in accessing PNRR funds, which are fundamental for launching a profound process of relaunching our country through a sustainable transition.”
“Thanks to Intesa Sanpaolo for the sensitivity shown in being a ‘Great Supporter’ of one of the most emblematic and magical territories of the Veneto region,” concluded the President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia. The Prosecco Hills are a relatively recent ‘discovery’ in the sphere of tourism, but they are really growing in terms of environmental sustainability, widespread hospitality, and the enhancement of wine and food products. A unicum that even UNESCO wanted to include among its heritages. The challenge now is to continue this growth trend, with an eye on the future‘.
