Following the success of the 2025 edition, ITKAM is once again hosting its German-Italian Energy Talk at the renowned international trade fair Key – The Energy Transition Expo (in Rimini) in 2026.
The event, in English, will be held on March 5, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the Hydrogen Area stage (inside Hall B.4 of HYPE – Hydrogen Power Expo) and is aimed at start-ups and companies interested in developing more environmentally sustainable strategies. During the event, participants will have the opportunity to explore and discuss cutting-edge technological solutions proposed by Italian and German companies. The event is organized by ITKAM with the patronage of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Rome and in close collaboration with Deutsche Messe AG, Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), and the Italian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (H2IT).
The German-Italian Energy Talk is a networking opportunity dedicated to innovation and cooperation between Italy and Germany in the energy sector, with a particular focus on the hydrogen supply chain. It also provides an opportunity to present Italian and German best practices in the context of global climate challenges.
HYPE – innovation in hydrogen at Key Energy
HYPE – Hydrogen Power Expo is part of Key – The Energy Transition Expo, an event dedicated to technologies, services, and integrated solutions for energy efficiency in Italy and the Mediterranean basin. The next edition of Key Energy (which in 2025 attracted over 1,000 exhibitors and 54,000 visitors) will be held from March 4 to 6, 2026, at the Rimini exhibition center. In this context, Italian Exhibition Group and Hannover Fairs International GmbH (HFI), the Italian subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG, are once again presenting HYPE, an exclusive space dedicated to the hydrogen supply chain and its crucial role in the decarbonization of the industrial and transport sectors.
Program
The focus of this event is the development of the hydrogen market in the European context.
After the opening remarks by the German Embassy in Italy at 11:30 a.m., the event will continue with keynote speeches, during which two representatives of the institutions (MASE in the person of Fabrizio Penna and the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy) and a representative of the industry association H2IT (Luigi Crema) will discuss the future prospects for hydrogen, political and regulatory priorities, and investment needs for market development.
This will be followed by a panel discussion, with the participation of key players in the hydrogen supply chain (both Italian and German) to discuss the transition from strategic cooperation to the concrete implementation of hydrogen production and transport infrastructure.
The discussion will be moderated by Cristina Maggi, director of H2IT.
At the end of the German-Italian Energy Talk, starting at 1:00 p.m., participants will have the opportunity to continue the discussions and explore the ideas that emerged during the meeting. They will also be able to network with the speakers and other participants over Italian-style refreshments.
The program is available HERE.
Participation in the event is free of charge, but registration is required via the following LINK. Priority is given to ITKAM members.
