Speech by President Mario Pozza
Welcome,
cordial greetings to the authorities present to Mayor De Pellegrin, President of the Province of Belluno Roberto Padrin, Regional Councilor Puppato, I also greet Councillor Bottacin, Regional Councilor Cestaro, Vicar Quaestor Guiso, Commander of the Carabinieri Pigozzo, Commander of the Guardia di Finanza Guarino, Deputy Fire Chief Mr. Capozzi, dear Vice President Nadia Zampol, dear Federico D’Incà,
I am pleased and honored to be here in this wonderful setting in your presence.
Once again this year this important network of institutions made itself heard with an ongoing dialogue, profiled for the delicacy that the mountains have and profiled for the people who have to inhabit this territory.
We focused on young people.
You know that this wonderful venue is also home to the ITS Tourism class.
A partnership with the Veneto Region and the Veneto ITS with a dedicated call for proposals to help families to support their children’s enrollment costs.
With these investments we are setting our sights on the future, because we are talking about the tourism economy, Italy’s economy par excellence of promotion in the world, which needs trained people who are up to the demands of a tourism that is increasingly demanding and increasingly international.
Our territory, we know, is in the context of Veneto, in the context of Italy and in the context of the world.
This perspective helps us to see even further ahead in our shared strategies.
Yesterday, I opened the work of the Veneto Unioncamere Convention and we illustrated the results that Veneto has achieved, but also the weaknesses of our territory in the sphere of sustainability, gender equality, the objectives of the European agenda.
Working together and communicating more and better were the mantras of the discussion.
The Chamber of Commerce I assure you is there and puts its planning in service of these goals.
Yesterday, we also awarded the companies that have distinguished themselves in the seven provinces of the Veneto region, and I will not hide from you the great pride I felt for the great commitment to innovation, for the attention to sustainability.
Companies of products that are now in the eye of the storm, precisely because they produce plastic or other polluting material, have transformed themselves attentive to the goals of sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
Companies of excellence that we have here in our territory, outside our front door, that we may not even know, but are in the world with productions of absolute excellence.
A meeting we also had at the “Ancient trades of the future” orientation events where companies of the highest craftsmanship presented themselves to young students and at Cà Foscari University with companies that participated in export manager workshops.
But as I told you, at the Unioncamere Veneto convention there was a need to communicate more, to let people know how much PA does for businesses.
This is also the reason for the summary that we present to you every year, with the video of 2023 activities that you will now see and that I hope you will want to share to let people know the new face that our institutions have that is closer to people, to stakeholders, to families.
Video activities and Olympic games
We could not put everything in a few minutes, but know that they are the focus above all values of the activities, not just a list. We put at the center the sustainability of the person and the environment, young people, business culture but also artistic culture, the beauty of our area the look towards change, the look towards big events, such as the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Games. For young people , for the mountains it is a memorable event, not only for the sport, but for the values of the Olympic spirit that it communicates to young people and also for the promotion of the mountains that we do not take for granted that it is so well known abroad.
We realized this when we brought the Ficts international delegation thanks to the Generation2026 project, they were enchanted by the beauty, the welcome, the smiles, the beauty of the venues and the good food, what we have to be good at communicating and promoting.
Digitization cybersecurity
It is one of the most important assets we have to govern to innovate, but it will always be the people who make the difference. The law enforcement, the postal police who were witnesses at the chamber events in Belluno and Treviso on cybersecurity know this. Thank you for your testimony to young people and businesses.
Women’s Entrepreneurship
There is a flash on the business awards event by the Women’s Entrepreneurship Committee. Vice Chair Nadia Zampol is part of it and thank you very much. We know … Veneto has been hurt even more than anyone else this year with Giulia. There is a lot to be done.
Internationalization
Let me also speak to you in my role as president of Assocamerestero.
I know I aim for everyone’s heart because of the large number of Bellunesi in the World.
But let me highlight the human, business and promotional value of Made in Italy, the network of Italians in the World and the institutional network of Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad.
Let’s all seize this great opportunity.
We all speak the same language.
They know Italy and our doing business and they know the territories where they live and work.
Let us all create a great network together, with the great ambition to make our territories excellences in the world, fascinating for young people, territories for sustainable tourism, a place to live happily.
