On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., the former council chamber of the Forno di Zoldo Town Hall, in the municipality of Val di Zoldo, hosted the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the Luca Caviezel and Carlo Pozzi Archive, followed by the customary tasting of artisanal gelato that accompanied the remainder of the ceremony.
The exhibition serves as an introduction to the vast archive of master gelato maker Luca Caviezel, unanimously recognized as one of the leading experts in the field, so much so that his publications are commonly referred to by professionals as “the gelato bible.” The archive, donated to Longarone Fiere Dolomiti, contains thousands of documents drafted, collected, and used by Caviezel throughout his career: study and research materials, educational programs for training courses, and content forming the basis of his most important published works.
The exhibition is part of the “GELATOn the ROAD” project, led by Longarone Fiere Dolomiti with the Municipality of Val di Zoldo as a stakeholder, and curated by the Artistic Director of Arte in Fiera Dolomiti, Maestro Franco Fonzo.
The permanent exhibition will be open during the regular hours of the Forno di Zoldo Town Hall, helping to promote the region’s ice cream-making tradition and spread the culture of artisanal gelato.
A temporary selection of the exhibition will also be on display at the Longarone Cultural Center on Sunday, June 14, during “Gelato in Festa,” the traditional event organized by the Pro Loco. The event, scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Via Roma, will feature tastings of artisanal gelato, workshops, and entertainment activities for all ages.
