Fifty-four “historic” artisan companies, which started their business more than half a century ago, were honored Saturday morning, Oct. 14, by Confartigianato Imprese Treviso at the Cassamarca Foundation Auditorium. A large audience – of mayors, aldermen, representatives of the regional and provincial Confartigianato system, regional and provincial authorities, including family members and friends of the awardees – flocked to celebrate these Treviso businesses that have been holding high the name of Treviso and the Marca trevigiana for decades, in Italy and around the world.

Local businesses represent an important social and cultural heritage within our communities, not exclusively an economic value – said the president of Confartigianato Imprese Treviso, Ennio Piovesan, welcoming the award recipients – Those we are celebrating today are artisan companies founded mainly in the 1960s, which in our province were years of great development and social redemption after the poverty of the previous decades. They are businesses of various sizes, one-person, family or medium-sized companies, often born in the garage or basement of the house, operating in the most diverse sectors, putting to use the creativity and skills that are typically artisan; they are mostly businesses that have already experienced the generational transition, very rooted in the territory and the social fabric to which they belong. This is why we decided to award them: a recognition of the tenacity and commitment of so many small entrepreneurs, our associates, who have contributed to the fortunes of our Marca trevigiana. But also a wish to continue on the road of innovation and continuous improvement, with an eye to the new generations and the society of tomorrow.

The event was a choral occasion to thank the fabric of small and medium-sized companies in Treviso, a key piece in the economy and the successful entrepreneurial system of the Northeast.

Event partners: CentroMarca Banca Credito Cooperativo di Treviso e Venezia and Anap Mandamentale, a national association of senior citizens and pensioners of Confartigianato.
