Treviso export increases by +8,0% in the first quarter 2018, above the national and regional average; Belluno export decreases by -1,3%, just below the levels of last year, but it is increasing
excluding eyewear sector that still serves the record levels reached in the biennium 2015-2016
Treviso, 18th June 2018. Export figures released by Istat about the first quarter 2018 show an Italian export slowdown which, while growing by +3,3% in comparison to the first quarter 2017, it had
almost a double-digit growth (+9,6%) in the same period of the previous year.
The same dynamic for the regional export that, with +4%, shows a growth above the national average, but slowing down in comparison to one year ago (+6,7%).

TREVISO
Treviso, with a +8,0% in comparison to the first quarter 2017, seems not to be touched by the international demand slowdown and is growing far above the national and regional
average resulting the Venetian Province with the most relevant variation, in particular compared to the one of last year (+6,7%).

“2018 – says the President of Treviso-Belluno Chamber of Commerce Mario Pozza – had a good start for Treviso export. Treviso is the Venetian Province with the highest
growth rate at regional level: contrary to the other Provinces, Treviso export is speeding up in comparison to the first quarter 2017 thanks to the relevant double-digit results in markets like
Spain, Russia and USA”.

BELLUNO
In Belluno Province, instead, export is slightly decreasing in the first quarter 2018 in comparison to the values of one year ago (-1,3%) when they were however little more than
stagnating. The minor contraction, surely amplified by the balance sheet on a quarterly basis, is essentially referring to the eyewear sector, top product of the Belluno trade, with an export
decrease by -3,5% on the first quarter 2017, after -2,0% in the same period of one year ago. Excluding the eyewear sector, also the Belluno export shows an increase (+4,5%), driven
in particular by machineriessales (+9,2%), further growing after the flattering result of one year ago (+11,4%).

The result of Belluno is slightly underplaying – points out President Pozza – because of the eyewear sector result; nevertheless the manufacturing, excluding such
sector, is still growing thanks in particular to machineries industry that has reached almost 11% of Belluno export. We have as usual to be careful with first quarter provisional data that can be
affected by seasonality, dynamics amplifications, contract-effects generated by reduced exchange volumes”.
