President Pozza signs the memorandum of understanding Abitare.
The aim of the protocol is to promote cooperation between all the signatory bodies, the Prefecture of Treviso, Institutions, Associations, Trade Unions, Trade Associations and the Third Sector to solve the problem of the housing emergency in the Treviso area. (Protocol attached)
Among the modes of collaboration included in the document, two are certainly the most prominent:
The first, which has already been implemented, has seen an amendment to the Regional Law that ensures the possibility for municipalities to have in their availability 2 dwellings to be allocated to social projects not necessarily linked to ERP criteria, on the basis of a programme agreement with Ater authorised by the Veneto Region on the housing ‘project’ defined by the municipality’s social services.
The second, envisages the creation of a ‘Support Fund for Access to Housing’ in collaboration with Third Sector Bodies and fed by the individual Municipalities of the Marca Trevigiana, with the possibility of adhesion by all those subjects, including private ones, interested in actively contributing to the promotion of a unitary policy on the issue of Housing in the province of Treviso. It is a fund linked to two parts: an economic one, to support the expenses a family has to bear with the guarantee of coverage by the bodies involved, and another aimed at housing education, thanks to the third sector already operating, ready to train new tenants. This is undoubtedly a help and a guarantee for both the public and the private sector, which will be more incentivised to rent thanks to the safeguards.
