We wanted to make this video –  said Mario Pozza, President of the Treviso-Belluno Chamber of Commerce- because we believe it is essential to give importance to relational capital in order to build knowledge and trust. The video was conceived as a cultural project, becoming a product of the relationships forged between those who experienced the tragedy of the 1966 flood and the young people who learned about the emotions, experiences, and ability to react from the direct accounts of the witnesses.

The video documentary is the result of intensive filming and contact with RAI Teche to find footage and news reports from 1966, enhanced by collaboration with the school. RAI Veneto granted its patronage, considering the initiative to be significant. Patronage was also granted by the municipalities affected by the 1966 flood.

I would like to thank – continues Pozza – Dr. Sardella for supporting the project and networking the schools in the Opitergino Mottense area, and the director of the Antonio Scarpa Lavinia da Re Institute and Professor Visintin for involving the students and thus giving the project educational value. I would like to thank Dr. Mario Po’ for his cultural contribution to the project.

Prefect Laura Lega closed the proceedings by saying – I would like to thank the Chambers of Commerce of Treviso, Belluno, and Pordenone for producing this documentary video, which helps us understand how the area was affected, but also how it was able to recover. It is the result of ‘taking action,’ of the rebirth of an area that has expressed its values by taking back control of its own destiny -.

The institutions that connected via streaming: ISIS Antonio Scarpa – “J. Sansovino” State Technical Institute for Surveyors – “Amedeo Voltejo Obici” State Institute of Higher Education – “G. B. Cerletti” State Secondary School in Piavon di Oderzo – TV “Brandolini Rota” College – Giuseppini del Murialdo – Lepido Rocco vocational school.

The Chambers of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno, the Chamber of Commerce of Pordenone, and the economic categories, at the conclusion of the celebrations that took place to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the flood, have planned a day of work as institutions of the two regions to further raise awareness among public institutions of the need to complete the infrastructure and hydraulic works necessary to make the Opitergino Mottense area safer from natural risks today.

We would like to make a positive contribution to finding a unity of political commitment aimed at common goals in the interest of the business community that wishes to continue to grow and and make this extraordinary part of our country competitive.
