The Italian Chamber of Commerce – Barcelona is presenting the 9th edition of My Start BCN: a program aimed at promoting the international growth of promising Italian companies seeking to expand their market in Spain.
Who can apply
The initiative is open to Italian founding members of innovative companies interested in presenting high-potential solutions, even if they are not registered in the innovative startups registry. The goal is to facilitate access to Barcelona’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by creating opportunities for networking, visibility, and engagement with investors and industry professionals.
Five finalist startups will be selected from among the applications received. These finalists will have the opportunity to present their projects to a jury composed of innovation experts, mentors, and venture capitalists through a pitch session and the creation of a presentation video.
The evaluation process will consist of two phases.
- PHASE 1 – ITALY: The application evaluation process will be coordinated by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Barcelona in collaboration with I3P, the Incubator of the Polytechnic University of Turin.
- PHASE 2 – SPAIN: The evaluation process will be coordinated by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Barcelona and a jury composed of innovation managers, professionals, mentors, and venture capitalists.
The selection will take into account various strategic factors, including the project’s level of innovation, the scalability of the business model, its positioning in the target market, the strength of the entrepreneurial team, and the results the company has already achieved.
The winning startup will gain access to a support program aimed at helping it expand into the Spanish market, which includes coworking spaces in Barcelona, mentoring, B2B meetings with key players in the local ecosystem, administrative and financial support, as well as participation in 4YFN 2026, one of the leading international events dedicated to startups and innovation.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted by October 8, 2026, by sending the required documentation, including a business presentation and a video pitch (in English or Spanish).
