Italian entrepreneurs appreciate “mobile” communication with the public administration, especially those who run companies with more than 10 employees and operate in the energy, high-tech, advanced services, and healthcare sectors. This profile emerges from an analysis of users of the “Impresa Italia” app, developed by Infocamere on behalf of Unioncamere and the Chamber of Commerce system to streamline interactions between entrepreneurs, Chambers of Commerce, and the public administration, which has recently surpassed the milestone of 1.5 million participating businesses. When including businesses that use the established web platform via the impresa.italia.it website, the total number of registered users reaches 3.5 million. Since the initiative’s launch, these users have downloaded over 23 million official documents (including business registrations and financial statements) for free, resulting in an estimated total savings of approximately 230 million euros.

The fact that smartphones have overtaken web access tells us that digital technology is increasingly becoming a tool in the hands of entrepreneurs, who are beginning to realize that the public administration is providing useful tools to manage and develop their businesses – said Unioncamere President Andrea Prete. – At the same time, there is a clear and urgent need to expand the use of this tool to micro-enterprises, which are still unable to fully capitalize on the benefits of digital transformation in their dealings with the public administration and the market.

This achievement recognizes our decision to put technological innovation at the service of the day-to-day needs of business owners – says InfoCamere President Antonio Santocono. – With the ‘impresa italia’ app, we’ve engineered an intuitive platform, designed for on-the-go use, that transforms complex tasks into operations that take just a few seconds. Our goal is to continue developing advanced and secure technological solutions capable of reducing bureaucratic complexity and ensuring immediate, seamless access to businesses’ information resources.

What it is

The “impresa italia” app, available for download from all app stores and accessible via digital identity (SPID or CIE/CNS), provides legal representatives and business owners with a range of operational features to digitally manage their company’s documents at no cost, directly from their smartphone:

  • Official documentation at your fingertips – Free access to and download of Chamber of Commerce extracts, financial statements, articles of incorporation and bylaws, certificates, and the Certificate of Registration in the National Register of Environmental Managers, with the ability to quickly and securely share your data with business partners or financial institutions.
  • Case tracking – Real-time tracking of the progress of applications submitted to the Business Registry and the Single Window for Productive Activities (SUAP).
  • Integrated services and payments – Real-time quality control of the company’s compliance status and the ability to pay the annual Chamber of Commerce registration fee directly from the app.
  • Push notifications – An alert system allows business owners to receive useful information and news about growth opportunities for their companies.

Analysis of updated data from the July 2026 monitoring shows an average app adoption rate of 44.9% among all businesses already registered on the web platform (totaling 3.5 million).

Organizational structure – Preference for the app exceeds the 50% threshold among more structured businesses, such as corporations (51%) or other forms (cooperatives, consortia, organizations), where the rate approaches 55%, while among sole proprietorships it stands at 37.3%.
