The €-coin indicator fell slightly, from -0.05 in February to -0.14 in March.
The decline in the indicator is mainly due to the drop in share prices and to the downward revision of euro-area economic activity in the fourth quarter of 2022, published in March.
The €-coin indicator developed by the Bank of Italy provides a summary index of the current economic situation in the euro area. The indicator is an estimate of quarterly GDP growth shorn of the most erratic components (seasonal variations, measurement errors and short-run volatility). €-coin is published monthly by the Bank of Italy and CEPR.
The next publication dates for €-coin are and Thursday, 4 May 2023 and Wednesday, 31 May 2023 (to be confirmed).
