Treviso, 27 march 2025 – The Civic Museum “Luigi Bailo” in the center of Treviso from 29 March opens the door to the exhibition “HOKUSAI – Water and the SECRET of the big wave”. An unmissable opportunity to immerse yourself in the art of Katsushika Hokusai, discovering his connection with the acquatic element, his revolutionary compositional techniques and the geometric secrets behind the famous “Big Wave”.
The exhibition, curated and designed by Paolo Linetti, in collaboration with the Mnemosyne Association, with the contribution of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso-Belluno|Dolomiti, is not limited to the exhibition of the works of Hokusai, but it represents for the visitor a journey into his creative methods.
Thanks to an innovative installation and a path designed to reveal the connections between the works and the artist’s philosophy, the public will be able to fully immerse in the world of Hokusai, unveiling the secrets behind the creation of one of the most iconic images in art history.
The exhibition offers a unique path in the art of Hokusai, with the main objective to understand his personality, the distinctive sides of his character, such as eccentricity, inexhaustible curiosity and obsession for artistic perfection. The exhibition reproduces significant phrases by the artist that revela his witty irony and sharp look at the reality of the time. The second aim is to investigate the studies and influences that shaped Hokusai’s style.
