Belluno is set in the wonderful context of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites.
It is believed that the etymology of the name Belluno derives from the union of two Celtic words, belo and dunum, meaning shining city.
The Belluno area is a unique province, where the elegance of the Venetian world merges with the culture of the North made of legends, natural sceneries and long jealously guarded traditions.
In this surreal atmosphere you can admire: villas and castles nestled in large valleys surrounded by imposing rock faces, ancient villages where craftsmen give free rein to their creativity, and towns bathed by roaring waters.
The city can be reached by car or by public transport.
The A27 motorway connects Belluno to the regional capital, Venice.
The nearest airports are in Treviso, Antonio Canova, and Venice, Marco Polo.
Train stations are in Belluno, Feltre and Calalzo di Cadore, while the Dolomitibus bus service extends throughout the province.

60 min. by bus with the Dolomitibus line n. 9.
BELLUNO – FELTRE (30 km):
37 min. by car
40/50 min. by bus from the train station of Belluno take the Dolomitibus nn. 13/20 lines that go directly to the train station of Feltre
38 min. by train with the Trenitalia line
BELLUNO – CORTINA D’AMPEZZO (68 km):
1 h 24 min. by car
2 hrs by bus because you have to take two buses, line no. 9 which goes to the Calalzo train station and then line no. 30 to Cortina.
BELLUNO – LONGARONE (18 km):
20 min. by car
26 min. from Bivio Nogarè take the Dolomitibus line n. 9
From Belluno you can reach Treviso by taking the A27 motorway and in an hour you will arrive in the city, otherwise by train 1 h 50 min.
Belluno is also connected to Vittorio Veneto by the Dolomitibus line n. 41 (60 min.), while by train it takes 56 min. with a change at Ponte nelle Alpi station.
