In Pieve di Cadore you will find the birthplace of Tiziano Vecellio.
The great painter lived his childhood in the family residence and, although he moved to Venice, he used to return during the summer period.
The house-museum still has the original 15th-century windows and doors, with an exterior wooden staircase, galleries and a pitched roof.
On the ground floor you will see reproductions of Titianesque drawings preserved at the Uffizi in Florence and copies of autographed letters.
In the five rooms on the upper floor, on the other hand, you will experience the atmosphere of a typical Cadore house with traditional rustic furnishings and the large foghèr (hearth) where Titian used to gather with his family.
Book a visit to the House Museum here and retrace the rooms that gave birth to the famous Titian.
