Treviso Suona Jazz Festival is an important event for the cultural and artistic enhancement of the city, contributing in a current way to its attractiveness for citizens and tourists. the quality of the programme and the festival’s ability to create connections between generations and cultures make it a very valuable event. The Chamber of Commerce supports and contributes to this event, aware of the central role that culture plays in strengthening social cohesion, making the city a place of meeting and pleasant leisure and expressing an aspect of sustainable economy. The invitation is therefore to take part, to share and live Treviso Suona Jazz Festival.
It will start with the preview on April 30, on the occasion of the celebrations of the International Day of Jazz, and it will continue from 17 to 25 May with a rich program of content and a variety of styles and proposals, which pay homage to a music that is synonymous with freedom and meeting point between different cultures and generations.
The program involves high-profile international musicians, not to mention the best names of the Italian jazz scene, “female jazz” and young talents, creating a strong connection between territory and music, finding in the perfect union, between jazz and art venues, a format that at the beginning was innovative for the city, but that over time has proved to be a distinctive feature of the festival, which has in its strengths the quality, originality, and know-how network with institutions, companies and associations.
At the same time, the kermesse directed by Nicola Bortolanza preserves and strengthens the attention towards the new generations and the world of education. There is no lack of original productions, workshops, events for children, listening guides, screenings, exhibitions and book presentations, confirming the multidisciplinary nature of an event that always includes everyone.
Parallel to the concerts of the early evening are free admission events in the city center, with local artists, because the basic idea is that jazz must be a shared heritage, to meet and listen to good live music together, in concert halls, but also in clubs, streets and squares.
The eleven editions, including the numerous pre and post festival activities throughout the year, and the involvement of many and different realities of the territory, make us reflect on how and how much this event has entered, little by little, in the life and habits of many people from Treviso and beyond.
