Treviso, Belluno, Verona, 9 May 2023. The 150 students of the 10,000 GenerAZIONE2026 young people from the Schools of Belluno, Treviso and from this year also Verona will leave at dawn from the mountains of Veneto and the plains to arrive full of the desire for sport and results.

The Schools that have selected the youngsters are: for Treviso: Comprehensive Institute Vittorio Veneto II Cosmo, Sms Veronese Maser ( Comprehensive Institute Cornuda), Comprehensive Institute Riese Pio X, for Belluno: Comprehensive Institute Tina Merlin, Comprehensive Institute Auronzo di Cadore and for Verona: Comprehensive Institute 9 Verona – Scuola Valdonega, Comprehensive Institute 16 Verona – Scuola Caperle, Comprehensive Institute 8 Verona – Scuola Betteloni, Comprehensive Institute 8 Verona – Scuola Caliari.

The girls and boys will arrive in Milan accompanied by their teachers.

They will run the semifinals of fast running (80m) and the best 4 times per class will compete in the Final with the best times of the Milan Schools.

Grand Finals then for 42,300 students from 73 schools in Lombardy and Veneto who will take part in the 61st edition of the ‘MILANO CORTINA 2026 TROPHIES – Education, Culture and Sport for Young People’, a year-long training project – and also part of the ‘Education Gen26’ Programme of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation – based on innovative proposals for primary and secondary schools.

The aim is to raise awareness and bring young people closer to Olympism, and it is the first time that the event is named after the two cities hosting the next 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The President of the Organising Committee, Prof. Franco Ascani Member of the Culture Commission of the International Olympic Committee, stressed ‘the fundamental importance of actively involving the new generations in the dissemination of sports culture and Olympic Values’.

The Minister for Sport and Youths Dr. Andrea Abodi will speak at the Tripod Lighting Ceremony as part of the ‘GenerAZIONE2026’ Project with the twinning of the Schools of the Veneto Region.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno|Dolomiti and Assocamerestero Mario Pozza will participate in the event, intervening at the closing ceremony of the games and as a supporting body, as Chamber of Commerce, of the project GenerAZIONE2026, which will see in Treviso and Verona on 6,7,8 June the event of the awards ceremony for young people, at the Mario del Monaco theatre and the promotion of the territory, with the reception of FICTS delegates from all over the world.

GenerAZIONE2026 is a project now in its 3rd edition promoted and supported by the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno|Dolomiti, the Veneto Region, the Regional School Institute, and from this year, the Chamber of Commerce of Verona.

The Project is structured in eco-friendly, inclusive educational activities – divided into 5 Areas 1) Your ‘Games’, 2) Your ‘Values’, 3) Your ‘Lifestyles’, 4) Your ‘Sport in a Video’, 5) Your ‘Competitions’ .

This architecture offers diverse experiences ranging from fair competition to the promotion of solidarity and mutual respect.

There has been significant participation and a large number of entries have already arrived.

Prizes and sports material for schools, participants and teachers are up for grabs.
