The calls for the 56th edition of our World Class Manufacturing (WCM) are currently open for applications.
This five-day training programme, orginsed by the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation- Head office, is taking place in October 2026, offers European companies a unique opportunity to gain first-hand insight into Japanese manufacturing excellence through expert-led sessions and factory visits (Gemba). The programme focuses on lean manufacturing, continuous improvement (Kaizen), and operational excellence, drawing on proven Japanese practices such as TQM, TPM and Just-In-Time production.
The mission is particularly relevant for manufacturing companies across sectors and is targeted at managers and decision-makers with an engineering or operations background who are in a position to influence production strategies and process improvement within their organisation.

- Session: 19–23 October 2026
- Format: Expert lectures, workshops and factory (Gemba) visits
- Target audience: SMEs and large companies based in EU
- Costs: The EU‑Japan Centre covers participation costs for SMEs, large companies need to pay a participation fee of €1500 ; travel and accommodation are at the participant’s expense.
