WHAT’S NEW
Consul General Marco Nobili
Like many of you, our Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers are still struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss of Consul General Marco Nobili, on January 12th.
In the few short months since taking his post in September, Marco was a regular face at Chamber meetings and events. He quickly became a dear friend to all of us in the ICCCW office and to countless in our community.
Marco was a visionary and had big ambitions for the future of trade relations between Italy and Western Canada. His friendship and support as well as his positivity and energy will be dearly missed.
The passing of Marco also left a void in the diplomatic community where he was widely admired and respected. On January 27th, the day that his remains departed Canada, the flags at both Vancouver City Hall and the BC Parliament buildings in Victoria were flown at half-mast. City Hall also illuminated green, white and red as a gesture of support for the Nobili family and the Italian community.

Buildex Vancouver
Once again, the Chamber will be at Buildex Vancouver, Western Canada’s largest building industry trade show.
In collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Ottawa, Italian Trade Agency, CDP, Bennett Jones, Confindustria, CNA and , we are presenting ‘The Canada – Italy Green Building Forum’. This series of events on-stage at the show and online will explore unique opportunities in the green building and ‘smart cities’ sectors in both Italy and Canada.
